Call came in on 2/25/16 and caller ID said "offender call" which I did not answer because I did not recognize area code or number. Message was left and woman came on line advising call came from a correctional facility which, of course, was garbled and then the alleged "offender" said his first name, also garbled. Caller requests if I want to accept the call and my METHOD OF PAYMENT! Naturally, I did nothing and call was terminated. One of the newer scams where you're advised someone you know has been arrested and they need money! DO NOT ANSWER! Warnings about this type of scam have been in newspapers and on t.v.

Called again at 12:52 p.m. today (2/25/16) - persistent. Left message again starting with PAYMENT OPTIONS or to refuse call, press one or hang up. Gladly hung up!

Not a scam, actually is a prison, if you don't recognize the number just a wrong call on their part. They ask for info to pay for the call

Its a number from the luzerne county correctional facility. So if you get a call from this number, someone in jail is trying to contact you.

Well, we already know it is the LCCF the calls are coming from, but yours might be someone who knows you that just got locked up or a wrong number or a prison scam. Not knowing anything about the caller doesn't really help anyone.
