recorded message: Do you own a small dog?" Then hung up. Had the same message last week and a half on another number.

I just received the same recorded message about a small dog, then hung up.  Now what am I supposed to do?  How do I report this?

Just got a call from this "Cell Phone, VA" "do you own a small dog"?  What idiots to spend their money on such foolishness, I'll report to FTC, lot of good that does. Called the number back, by the way, their mailbox is full, I'll just bet!!

What gives with these stupid calls

I just got one and it scared me.  I have small chis and went running looking around the house and yard thinking they had gotten out and were at the pound being scanned or had been kidnapped.

His ominous voice does not help matters.

These idiots.

If these telemarketer fools think this gets people to answer the phone think again.  I think that was a borderline threat call.

Judging by this growing list all within the last 30 minutes or so, this company (and I use the term LOOSLEY) must be trying a new caller id number to try to get people to answer. I never answer the phone unless I am expecting a call or I recognize the number. That's why voicemail was invented.

Just got a call from this number; a short message with nothing in it except a short burst of static.  Vonage shows this as "Cell Phone, VA".

Call from this number, no msg, they hung up. I live in Dallas,TX area.

it is a spam call. They want to record you saying "yes" so they can bill you for unwanted services. I blocked 208-758-0218 caller id P30PLE RSPNZ and now the same company has switched to 571-214-5430. I will contact the FCC as well as the DoNotCallList.

Actually, their reason for calling isn't dangerous our sinister, just illegal and annoying. Using robo-dialing, they're calling all these telephone numbers just to get answers...and when they do, they have a "live" phone they can sell to people wanting to do spamming and phone solicitation.  When you answer, or even when your answering machine answers, they know that telephone number is a "live" one, (meaning people actually live at that number) and they can sell the number to marketing and opinion firms. VERY annoying and very illegal, but probably not something to fear or be alarmed about.

This number keeps calling our house asking if we have a lost small dog

Just got a call form this number. I let the answering machine get it but no message was left. Caller waited until after outgoing message was done to hang up. I hope the caller dies a slow, painful, gruesome death very soon. (Hey, it says post only truthful information!)

Just got the same thing - message was static and couldn't make it out, but it was 3 seconds long. My land line's been on the National "Do Not Call' list for a while, but recently have been getting more solicitation calls than ever; what's up with that?

I just a call from this number and because it was a "wireless" call, I picked up the phone.  I hung up after the question: "Do you have a small dog?"

How is it that these phony IDs can appear on my caller ID.

I got a call from 571-214-5430. When I picked up the phone, a recorded voice that did not identify itself nor what company it was calling from said, "This is survey 2010. Do you own a small dog?" I simply hung up on the number because I will not participate in a survey from a company or organization that won't even identify itself upfront. When I tried to call back, I received a recorded message stating something like, "The mailbox belonging to [static] cannot be accessed at this time," blah blah blah. A reverse phone lookup on www.whitepages.com yielded the following: "(571) 214-5430 is from Washington, VA." If I find out who this is, I'm going to report them to the appropriate regulatory agency since my number is on the National Do Not Call List.

Just got a call from this number. Wireless Caller with this # in the caller ID.  Didn't answer since I didn't recognize Area Code.  Only message was a quick burst of static.

P.S. to my posting above: I forgot to mention that I received the call from 571-214-5430 on Aug. 30, 2010, at 1:25 p.m., and Caller ID identified it as "WIRELESS CALLER."

I have been called by 571-214-5430 every day for the past week.

This person or company should be prosecuted. I have filed a complaint with the IL AG because I am on the do not call list.

I have also filed a complaint on the 'Do not call' directory web site.

Same as everyone else, static for message on voice mail...
