- DisgruntledI do to! Twice in one day. It's just bar noise on the other end.
- Disgruntled #2I am getting calls from this number too. Just silence on the other end.
- jprobable debt collector or scam targeted at elderly or sick people having med ins troubles, perky caller asked for someone with my last name but another first name. Wouldn't give her name and said I had won a $50,000 home makeover and just needed to give access to my house to confirm. Caller also identified her company as "direct buy" which doesn't seem construction related IMHO. Wouldn't give company's website, address or identify how got this name and number, just that computer spat it out as a winner and they have over 700 partners. When I said this number was on Do not call list, she kept pressing for more info about me, but refused to give me any more info about her company or "prize." She finally agreed not to call me in the future.
- Caller: direct buy
- Call type: Debt collector
- GWPI've received several calls from this number. I have not had the patience to find out what they want but I can confirm that they claim to represent Direct Buy.
- Caller: Direct Buy
- ClaudeeI'm on the "NO CALL LIST"... Why am I getting these calls?!?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- jessthey just called me at 9:30 pm. they said they were with direct buy. told them i'm reporting them and i DID!
- Caller: direct buy
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Bubba| 1 reply"Direct Buy" - sounds like one of those places that charges you a whopping membership fee in exchange for "discounts" on furniture and other stuff. Any sales operation that insists on hubby and wife attending a presentation together is a HUGE red flag for me. I politely declined and hung up.
- Caller: Direct Buy(?)
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Resident47 replies to BubbaThat is exactly how Direct Buy is described by its detractors, as a buyer's club which is sold with the finesse of a greasy timeshare scam. Last I read people are pressured into paying a four grand fee up front for the dubious privilege of wholesale shopping. The numbers simply don't work unless you plan to spend an obscene amount to furnish a huge McMansion. At that I believe your choice of wares is limited. The typical experience reported amounts to a lot of grief and time wasted.
- PI've received several calls, no one on the line.
- BimThree calls so far today. No voice when I answer. I call them and get a "an agent will be with you soon" message.
