- pb| 1 replyPicked up and listened to a recording (woman’s voice) about my final offer to reduce credit card debt. I pushed 1 and after about 30 seconds was connected to John who wanted to know how much I owe on credit cards. I said “A LOT!” (I actually do not owe any thing on my credit cards but am just making this up to keep him interested while I fish for information.) He wanted to know how many cards and how much. I kept giving vague replies like I’m not sure how many cards, at least 6 or 7. He wanted to know how many I was delinquent on and then wanted to know if any card was still in good standing. He said I needed at least one card in good standing for them to help me. (I bet that is the card number he would try to get.) I asked him if he was calling from a call center and he said no sir. I asked who he worked for and he said Card Services. I said yea but what is the name of the company that writes your pay check and he again said Card services. I asked where Card Services was located and he said in Atlanta, where he was. I said where in Atlanta and he said 1900 The Exchange. Since I was on my way to run an errand, I told John that I was not interested in his services and was just wasting our time. And asked if he could take me off his call list which he said he could do.
John says he is in Atlanta (which may be true) but they show a Virginia telephone number. A bit fishy if he really works for “Card Services” which I doubt really exists. I called the number displayed on my caller Id and it connected me to a voice message for a call center that said they could take me off the call list of only the company that called me.- Caller: Card Services

- Jenn C. from ChicagoThis number constantly calls me at work - always when I'm away from my desk. Finally, I was there when they called today and I picked up. I also listened to a woman's voice recording and pushed one to speak with a representative. When the guy picked up I asked if I wanted to lower my interest rate, I said, "No! I don't have a credit card with you and I would you to take me off your calling list!!" I then heard a dial tone. The jerk hung up on me! WTF?!
- SaraI've gotten calls from 571-261-0045 and -0046 on my cell phone with no one at the other end. Usually calls during the day 9 or 10am.

- RoadMessage from caller about my credit cards and lowering interest rates.
- JMasonbeen getting calls from these yayhoos for about 2 years...sometimes they come in every two days, sometimes i dont get one for 2 weeks. it's my work number that they're calling which also gets calls for a jonathan hustutler who apparently doesnt pay his credit card bills. about 6 months ago i hit the '1' and talked to a woman. i politely indicated i wasnt interested in her offer and requested she remove my number. she said she would. kept getting the calls and this morning i pressed the '1' again and got adam. i played along until i realized he had no idea what credit cards i possessed. he said he couldnt look it up because his system was down. i requested he remove my number; he said if i didnt press the '1' for 30 days after getting a call then it would stop. i asked to speak to a mgr and was told they were on a call. i advised i would hold because my next call was to the FCC and didnt want to see him out of a job. he said he didnt have time to keep me on hold and started to hang up. i pleaded with him not to hang up on me, we exchanged some words, and eventually he termindated the call. guess i'll have our IT guys block the number in the PBX...but...LAME!
- JMasonThese calls continue to come to me after I plead with the calls to remove my number. Call example from 2/9/08 11:03 AM CT, from 571-261-0046 to 217-698-4962. Recording from 'Rachel' advising I've been approved for a lower interest rate on my Visa card. Press '1' to talk with a rep. Pressed '1' this time and got Adam. Adam started to ask me about my credit cards. I told Adam I didnt possess a Visa card and he asked me if I owned any credit cards I wanted a lower interest rate on. Advised Adam I would like to request AGAIN that I not be called and he informed me that their system is setup to continue to call the called party for 30 days after they press '1.' Asked to speak to a manager and was told the mgr was busy on a call. Advised I would wait. Adam told me he didnt have time to let me wait and started to hang up. I pleaded with him not to hang up on me and he terminated the phone call.

- GotZombie? replies to pb1900 the Exchange is a real building in Atlanta, on the Northwest side in the Marietta area as I recall. "Card Services" is related to Cross Country Bank, a sub-prime credit card scam that offered people credit cards with a $300.00 limit and $295.00 in fees until being busted by the FTC. Along with Capital Management Services, CCB has now moved on to issuing "credit cards" which are really nothing more than an affirmation of an otherwise time-barred debt (also known as Zombie Debt). For example, CCB will issue a $300 "credit card" for an 8 year old $295 hospital debt which otherwise is time-barred by the FCRA and FDCPA. CCB is also now in the "consolidation" or "reduction" business where they convince people to lower their credit card exposure by "negotiating" debts (I know, a lot of quotes here, but these are CCB terms of art, not mine). The trick in the consolidation shell game is that CCB will convince people to purposely miss payments to become delinquent and THEN try to "renegotiate" the debt(s). Of course, at the same time, CCB often receives fees from other creditors for "collecting" on the delinquent accounts. A very slick scheme by sub-prime creditors and debt collectors for sub-prime creditors and debt collectors.
- sarahno message, but from reading other peoples comments, i guess it is a scam.
- Amanda HigginsUnsolicted call to my prepaid cell phone. It costs me minutes.

- AlanSaw most of the posts are pretty old. This number has been showing up on my caller ID for about a week now one call before noon and one call later in the day. I do not answer calls that I do not know and they do not leave a message. Curious if anyone out there has picked up ( I hate the usual time wasters that call) to find out what the deal is.
- Caller: receivables ????
