I received a phone call from this number, well actually a message to call this number back.  The caller identified themselves as and IRS Tax Audit personal and wanted me to call them back....when I did there was NO answer. They threatened arrest if I don't call them back!  Just seems like a scam, so I thought I'd report it.

Just received the same phone message.  I can hardly wait for my arrest.  What a bunch of BS!

I received a call from an 800# and this was the callback#. The guy who left the message already sounded like a scammer but I called back just in case. I won't mess with the IRS. Got and answer on the 4th ring and he was extremely aggressive. He refused to answer my questions or even listen to anything I had to say. He tried to verify my birthday but when I told him he wasn't even close he told me to ignore the call. Scammers are seriously aggressive trying to scare people into giving them money. I'm pretty sure the IRS sends letters in the mail that have to be signed for long before they call.

Call from this scammer...IRS mentioned and tax fraud. This is not the first time this group has called.

This is a Pakistan or India based IRS scam. Do not fall for it. The IRS does not initiate any legal action via phone.

As general background information, here are a few things you can do:
1) Report it to TIGTA under http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml especially if you have become a victim (lost money, gave personal information etc.). You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov/complaint (include “IRS Telephone Scam" in your complaint). This way you can also help the government establish specific fraud patterns.

2) Help kill their phone lines but not by calling them back directly (the number may be spoofed and repeat calls by you may - under exceptional circumstances- amount to harassment). The scammers use Voice over IP lines (e.g. magicJack (Ymax corporation)) to make it seem as if they are calling from the US. This is always against these companys' terms of service and can lead to immediate termination of their contract and blocking of their IP addresses for future attempts to register. Do a reverse look up of their telephone number (e.g. www.whitepages.com) to identify the Voice over IP provider and report it to the company and/or law enforcement (local police and/or state attorney general)

3) If you are really annoyed: call or write to your representative in Congress. As these scams happen all over the country maybe this will trigger a reaction and provide US law enforcement agencies with the political backing and the resources they need to work in India and Pakistan together with local authorities (it can happen, read: http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/ex-call-cen ... mmission-320427). I received a call from this number stating "IRS and warrant for my arrest" at 11:35 pm tonight!!

Also received a call, in the middle of night at 3:14 am!! This is the second time. You woul think they wouldn't have such a heavy accent!

I also received a voicemail at 11:48pm on friday evening. The beginning of his message was cut off. Basically, he said he was a law officer, and threatened to take my to the supreme court for matters of tax evasion. I didn't call back but decided to google his # and just like I thought...a scammer. In his vm, he sounded like he was drunk.

I received this same exact call TWICE This week, First it was Hosia from Federal Courts, and Last night it was the same guy claiming to be officer Melvin, They called us at 11:30 PM friday night , woke us up it was a recording and not a live person, telling us that they filed a court paper and that there is an arrest warrant for us, TAX FRAUD, First and formost if there was a TAX FRAUD Warrant, They would have first sent us a paper in the mail,  WHY IS THIS ALLOWED TO KEEP happening, OVER AND OVER again,

They are located in India and as such beyond the reach of US law.  Call blocker might help.

I also received a call from this number from a man claiming to be with the IRS.  The man was very aggressive and had a thick accent (perhaps Indian).  He threatened to take me to court if I did not speak with him.  

Scammer called yelling stating he was with the IRS.  When I threatened to report him he quickly hung up.

I got a voicemail from an Indian guy named Adam who said he was from the Tax Audit Dept. of Internal....something. He said my mom and I filed some illegal claim and that we need to call back or we'll get arrested. I look forward to my arrest, lol.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

The caller said they were from the internal Revenue Service and there was a claim against my name. If I didn't call them back, I could be arrested.

This is a scam call stating the caller is from the IRS.  They are asking for a call back to the number below BEFORE YOU GET ARRESTED!!!

I receive a call from this number today @4:15 pm claim to be IRS say to call back as soon as possible or be arrested.
