Just received a call from this number at 9:33 AM Sep 23, 2011. I don't have any idea of who is calling. Caller ID shows Cell Phone, VA.

I'm on the do not call - how can political groups keep calling me

Why don't the phone companies stop this nonsense of the telemarketers taking up our valuable time with stupid phone calls wanting to sell something.  I have stores to shop in.  If I don't find it there I know how to use the yellow pages.  Daaaa...

Yes, political groups can call and call and call. To be covered by "Do not call" the caller has to be attempting to SELL you something. This means that charities are not covered by "do not call" either. :-(

I report political groups and charities anyway. If enough people do this then somebody might get the message that the call itself is the problem, not the content.

Received a call from this number, they claim to be some political group I never heard of before. Probably a scam. Reported to federal Do Not Call.

Called my Congressman (not using the auto connect that this call was hyping) and apparently the call is sponsored by the American Medical Association.  Due to a bill that was passed a long time ago there is another cut to the amount of money that medicare/medicaid will reimburse Doctors that is due to go into effect soon.

So, I say tell your congressman that if the US Government wasn't spending money like drunks on payday, this wouldn't even be an issue.  The fact that we spend billions in foreign aid (most of which just goes to line the pockets of some corrupt government leader or official) while our own people go without is ridiculous.

They can keep calling you because the Do Not Call legislation was drafted and passed by politicians.... so it exempts not only charitable organizations but also political cold calling. Great, huh?

Medicare (federal, doesn't count state Medicaid) payments in 2008 were $599 billion, or 20% of all federal spending. Now, which is the cart and which is the horse?

Caller ID just said "Virginia." So I'm guessing this is some kind of thinly veiled political polling. I'm sure these robocalls will escalate the closer it gets to the 2012 election day. The recorded voice identified itself as something like the Natl Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare. How's that for trying to get the attention of (and scare) seniors (of which I'm not one -- yet).

just received a call and looked it up and I guess the republican party likes me? cause all I get now are phone call and mail wanting a donation based on the other calls from this number I guess I am in some parties call list.

I answered, but got ZIP on the other end. Not even heavy breathing. I don't have caller ID so I hit *69 and got this number. What an annoying waste of time!

So we need to save medicare and SS???  70 year olds have been passing the buck on this clusterf*ck and electing the same idiots to congress who steal from the funds and now we have to have private savings accounts AND contribute to SS that we'll never get to collect.  I say bundle every union pension fund into SS and make the unions carry some of the water.  They get overpaid and underworked anyways.
