Got a call from this number after trying to reach Verizon to install a set top box. Wanted us to run something on our computer and said they were with windows. They've called back 3 or 4 times now.

Got a call from this number a couple of times, but they never left a message. Finally answered even though it said "Unknown Name." Guy with a strong accent said he was from Tech Support of America and my Windows system was broadcasting and exposed to harmful malware. He knew my last name, but didn't know my internet company or anything else about me. I was suspicious so I kept questioning him, but all he wanted was to read from his script..."Can you turn on your computer so I can help you with this problem, etc." I told him I wasn't going to turn on my computer, but I would call him back when I had time. He refused to give me his number and kept asking for a time he could call back. I told him I was going to hang up unless he wanted to give me their call center number and he said he would call back tomorrow. Guess what...I hung on him. The fact that he wouldn't give the number so I could check on it tells me that its some sort of hacking scam so watch out!

They called and hung up on the answering machine.

If this was a scam like other people here report, this is the third number they've used in the past week.

Tired of the "you have a virus"...  "you've won a cruise".... "the IRS is suing you".... "you owe unpaid debt".... "get a free security system"... "lower your interest rate".... etc etc  garbage.

got a call asking about my computer they said they were from IS something could hardly understand them, ask if they were from Apple they said yes and hung up.

Also got a call from this number. Said they were from Tech Support America. I hung up. Tried to block, but couldn't. Got a message saying "call screening number is invalid?"

I got a call and thought it was a prank.  There was a message from some man on my voice mail repeating "Hello?..Hello?" over & over.  Nothing else in the message.

I don't know this number

I got a call from this number telling me I have something on my computer.  This person has a very strong accent and enunciates all his words.  I've received this call twice now and I've told them to stop calling me and hung up on them.

Got a call from this company on my cell phone. The guy like others have said had a heavy accent. He said something was wrong with my PC. He wanted to provide tech support. I told him well that's funny because I have a MAC and he referred to it as a Macintosh (haven'ty heard that in years). He asked me if I was sure I didn't have a PC. I told him yes I'm sure. I asked him who was with and he kept mumbling something similar to what has been said above. The dude did know my first name. AVOID THIS FOLKS.
