- tammyjust got called from this number. I have been receiving this same exact call for about a week now. the woman on the recorded message leaves the same message every time. they used to call from Fargo, ND from 701-491-7802. they call my number and my wife's. there a processing and summons division and want you to talk the legal department and give a case number that she gives. message says your rights will be forfeited. it sounds like they got shut down and set up shop somewhere else, or appearing to be from somewhere else with a different number. numerous people reported thier other number to the FCC or FTC whichever it is. I'm thinking it's a scam. it better be a scam. they ask for money for a payday loan from cashnet. this phone number comes from South Bend, IN.
- Caller: processing and summons divisions
- Call type: Debt collector
- MoThey called me with a complaint number said two cases were filed against me. The minute I said I wanted their information to give to my attorney as I knew this was a scam. They hung up on me. I will search court records every Friday to make sure nothing comes of it. I am positive it is a scam.
- Caller: Processing and Summons Division
- Call type: Debt collector
- lulu| 1 replyCalled my office and told me they will be sending me a summons for owing over $1000 for something that dates back to 2007. When I asked what this and questioned how they knew it was me, the woman on the other end snapped and said she would send the summons out tomorrow and I had forfeited all my rights. Interesting since statute of limitations has run out.

- Alfalfa replies to luluThe Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
•is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
•refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
•asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
•exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
•Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
•Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
•Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

- FrankI received the same call from 574-968-8331 from a machine and it was a female voice but could not understand the name of the company. It said the same thing filing 2 charges for fraudulent activity has been attached to my name and social security number, and to call so they can make me aware of my legal rights to address your charges prior to being filed against you. You need to do so before you receive your summons at your place of employment or your home address once your served your rights will be forfeited. your case number is _ _ _ _ _ their telephone number is 574-968-8331. I then called at 6:25 pm California time and answering machine came on and said you can't leave messages as mail box is full. I called my cousin who is a retired Sheriff Officer and said it is a scam call and never the less I still think about it even though I try to forget about it as he stated.

- Frank| 1 replyI just got called again but this time the vm was a guy and stated he received papers regarding civil complaint filed against me and he was retained to serve me to appear at court at my residence or place of employment. if you have any questions or concern about the complaint or wish to rectify the matter outside the court before your served you need to call 574-968-8331 please reference case number #######. you have officially been notified. It seems strange that they want to charge me with Fraudalaunt activity and they are giving you a chance to rectify the matter.
- Caller: no name given
- Mo replies to FrankThey called me again today. A male this time. Same stupid scam as yesterday. The minute you tell them you know it's a scam and you want their information for your lawyer, they hang up. Wow, we all our "guilty" of TWO counts of fraud,,,, lol. Right!
- FrankI called my phone carrier and they told me what to do with the problem. I was told how to block the number that was calling which I did. I suggest that you call your phone carrier and ask about blocking the number, and you won't get any calls. I talked to my cousin who is a retired sheriff and said the call is fake. If they were going to file against you it would be coming from the district attorney and if you committed a crime, they are going to punish you not ask you to call and rectify the problem. He said I already rectified it by blocking them from calling me. The other thing is that they would not call you, they would send you a certified letter to go in to the district attorney's office.
