getting calls and tried to find out who this is.  I get a note that area code 583 does not exist.

Got a call from 583-296-3728. I tried to trace it. Was told area 583 was invalid. That is the prefix that came up on caller ID.
No message was left.

My experience is the same as Lynn's.

They call over and over again and will not take no for an answer.  I try to report them but the number does not appear to be real.  I have finally been successful in blocking this number but am concerned they will try with another.  They are rude and harassing and I think they are a huge scam trying to steal money or identities.

Do NOT answer their calls.  It is hard they call all day and night and are really rude when you tell them you are not interested.  I have asked them to put me on a do not call list and have demanded they stop calling but they will not STOP.  If anyone has success in finding out who they are and how to get them out of your life I would REALLY love to know.

Seriously they just called my house and my cell phone 15 times.  I hang up, tell them they cannot call anymore, or I don't answer and they just keep calling and calling and calling.

Just got called by 583-296-3728. I let it ring through, and my machine picked up. After my own message played, the caller simply said "Hello?" four or five times, then disconnected.

Wikipedia's area-code entry says "583" is not used, but I also found this: "583 is an area code for either Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, or Portsmouth, Virginia." A five-year-old reply, FWIW. http://www.chacha.com/question/where-is-583-area-code

Jerks have done the same thing here.  Block these people every chance you get!

Talked w/ 2 people w/ Asian accents - hard to understand.  Told me they were a legal company "Tech. Support of America."  They said that my computer wasn't functioning properly & wanted me to enter a code into my computer & said I had to do it with them, & couldn't do it on my own.  The guy sounded mad when I asked him for his number so I could call him back.  Makes me wonder what the code meant that he wanted me to enter into my computer!

They call and call.  We no longer pick up.

Got a call from these yahoos a few minutes ago. I keep one of those compressed air horns near the phone. Answer the call, but give them a couple of toots right in the mouthpiece. They hang up. Quickly. Plus, I never get another call from that number.

Same (non-existent) # called me at 2:02 pm, 29 June, like the rest of you.  Interesting that the calls were 'shot-gunned' to each of us on the same day and maybe same time of day.  Caller had an Hispanic accent.  Interrupted him and told him "I can't talk right now" & to call back later.  Didn't wait for a response & hung up.  Have yet to receive another call.  Wondering what the 'common thread' might be.
