Sent me this message via sms " we received your details from CL as such we might have a dispatcher job for you in response to that kindly respond if you will be interested." My ad on craigslist was not related to jobs or dispatching. No idea whobthis person is. Not the only strange text I've received lately with the same message. Received one from a different number.

Think this is a scammer.  I live in WA state and got a message from this number: "Hi i love the guitar you posted on CL as such let me know if still available"

I have gotten several of these since posting on CraigsList (almost not worth using the site!), and they all have the same syntax in their messages, same awkward way of speaking (like it's not their first language), and invariably are "too busy because of schedule, but can send someone by to pick it up."

The wording in the other comment posted above lets me know that this is the case with this one as well.

SCAMMER ALERT!

I also received a text message from this number responding to my craigs list ad for a keyboard.  I actually exchanged a few messages with them and they agreed to purchase my keyboard and mail me a money order.  Of course they asked for my full name and mailing address at which time I googled the number to check for scams.  Thanks for posting here to alert others, because this is clearly someone trying to obtain personal information and scam people.  The same odd language was used in the texts to me.

I definitely recommend NOT sending any info to this number!

I also received the same thing about the daughter telling me to txt her dad. I believed it gave them my address. Then I saw this and said that I lied and it wasn't my address.

I got a text from 347-826-3189 asking to text Dad @ 585-270-0856 my final price on what I had listed on CL,
but smells like a scam

yea same thing got a text from 3478260856 saying i am bill really love ur rims can u kindly send my dad ur final price so i did 5852700856 then the dad said ill send u a money order with mover expences just cash it at ur bank and give the extra to the mover i said send it to the mover and bring cash lol

Definitely a clist scammer. Same thing ... daughter says text her dad ...he'll send money order cash it pay the mover . Scammers can print out FAKE money orders and the bank will cash it then two, three weeks later find its fake and charge you the full amount so you lose your item you sold and owe the bank for the amount of the fake money order. Pitney Bowes makes a printing machine that can print out anything ...money orders..checks..cashiers checks. So becareful when using craigslist. Only accept cash.never trust anyone that doesnt live in your town .mostly likely a scammer.

Received a text from 1-914-873-4981 saying "Urgent need my boss David needs your guitar kindly text him your final price. text him on (585)-270-0856" so i did. I asked if they were looking for a guitar and they told me my final price was perfect. They sent me a check for $1985.00 and said i keep $150.00 of it and the rest goes to the "mover" that comes to pick it up. We did some research because this person has about 3 or 4 different names: David Walton, Joanne Hertel, & David Miller. We looked up all the numbers and found a ton of different people saying it was a scam and how much money they lost when they cashed the check, and now here we are. DO NOT SELL ANYTHING TO THESE PEOPLE! DO NOT CASH CHECKS YOU GET IN THE MAIL FROM THEM!

I put an ad on CL for a guitar and I got a text from 914-873-4981 saying to text his boss my final price for the guitar, and gave me the number 585-270-0856. The first guy used good language, but the 585 number didn't know how to speak properly, had syntax and grammatical errors, and it just smelled like sketch. He offered me a money order for my "cool price" and said his movers were going to pick it up. Yeah right. Anyway, I looked up the number here and saw that he preys on musical instrument sellers in particular it seems. I live in Los Angeles, and both numbers are New York. I told him I wanted cash and he bugged off. Keep on the lookout for this guy. Definitely a scammer.

Wow 20 mins ago you wrote this and it just happened to me too...this scammer is on a roll...I'd like to get a hold of this slimy guy...I would gladly break my guitar across his head...it would be worth it =).

I just got this message from 508-283-9615: Am an auto engr my client Tayo likes the details of your Wheels on cl please text him your final price on (585) 270-0856. Definitely a SCAM. Didnt even respond.
