I got an automated phone call from this number 585-326-3189 saying they were from the IRS and that I needed to contact them immediately about my TAXES, right away I knew this was a SCAM number..  If the IRS wanted to contact me they will mail me a letter, not call my cell with an automated phone call.. SCAM!!!

Got an automated mess saying from IRS and I or  my attorney should call back right away because this was a time sensitive matter.  Freaked me out.  I called them back.  Man with heavy Indian accent answered was very rude, told me I owed taxes and they were (IRS) going to file a lawsuit against me and arrest me.  When I tried to ask questions he got VERY agitated and hung up.  I called back and got a woman.  She knew my name and that I had talked to so and so already.  I said yes but he hung up and I was completely in the dark and to please explain what was going on.  She went into a "spiel" about the IRS does these special a cross the board audits every 8 years and they found I owed taxes for 2008 and 2009 and had filed incorrectly, which was fraudulent.  I told her I would talk to my accountant about this and to please give me number and name or division of IRS to contact.  She stopped me at that.  She said ohno, they won't talk to accountants at this point, the accountant is the third party, they only file what I give them.  I will have to pay the tax.  She threatened me that a lawsuit would be filed against me, arrest charges filed, my drivers license revoked, car taken, credit cards etc., with the threats.  I said I didnt have any money I just lost my job.  She asked if there was anyone I could borrow from and I said maybe but not without paperwork from IRS explaining everything.  So she said ok.
BUT THEN she didnt have my address I had to supply which was wierd; and when I asked her to repeat back to me last 4 of social she used lame excuse of confidentiality; wierd again.  (And this was happening on a day I had already got off to a bad start and it was my birthday; so my game wasn't up to par).
Within 5 minutes of getting off phone I thought, I'm going to check this area code and voila....found out about all these IRS scams.  Just unbelievable.  Took up about 2 hours of my time today, wasted my time.  But I learned a good lesson.

Scams ask the way

This just happened to me, a woman called left message I called back got this man with heavy Indian accent, and called me by my nick name. Slot of chatter in background, said I defrauded the government from 2011 to 2014. And got very nasty with me told me I needed a lawyer and the sharrif was coming to arrest me. I'm 69 years old and this is not right

They called me a guy with heavy accent from India, he told me I defrauded the government, and I was going to be arrested,

This number, 585 326 3189, called and said that it was urgent I call them back.  I know this is a scam.  The IRS doesn't deal through the phone.  Who do I call to report them?  I would love to get them arrested.

Received phone from this number saying that I had alleged violations. Said it was legal investigative office.   In middle of call.  Was disconnected.  Tried to call back and phone number was out of order.

They called me looking for someone. And told me they were sending the police to my home.
