Got the same thing

I just got a call today and they left a message saying the same thing - that my number has been verified. It also said to press 1 or call this number to not receive any more calls. I read on another website not to call that number because then that verifies the phone number is to a residence which is what they want to know.

I got a call today from this number and they said the same thing to call and verify my number. I am on the do not call list. I don't see why these calls go through.

They called me and left a message stating that my number had been verified, and if I didn't want to get calls from them again to call them at 585-362-4104. I called the number given and they identified themselves as Bold Delta, directed me to enter my telephone number to be added to their Do Not Call list, and if I wished to speak with an attendant I needed to call 855-815-2632.  

I called their "attendant" and asked why I was getting a phone call from them "verifying my number".  I was told they work for a directory assistance "like" 411 and they called my number to verify it was a working telephone number.  I mentioned we get the wrong number phone calls for someone else quite often and wondered if they were verifying the wrong number.  She said no personal information (not even names) are being verified.  

I asked if it was for the telephone company and she said no.  The calls are automated,randomly dialed, only verifying the number being called is a working telephone number and that is all.  If the number had a recording saying "no longer in service", it would not be verified. Since our phone answered with an answering machine, our phone number was verified as a working number.  

I would guess they were leaving the message in order to keep return phone calls from people saying, "I saw your number on my caller ID, why did you call me?" to a minimum...?

I did call back the 585-362-4104 and entered my phone number to have it added to Bold Delta's Do Not Call List.

It is  ploy for additional marketing calls.

They called me and left a message stating that my number had been verified, and if I didn't want to get calls from them again to call them at 585-362-4105. I'm on the no call list, so this is very disturbing to me.

A recorded message left on our answering machine from Volt Delta (or Walt Delta) stating that it had verified our phone number for a directory service out of Rochester, NY, and to call the number if we didn't want to receive any more calls from them. (But no option to have our number removed from their directory,) Our number is on the National Do Not Call Registery, and we pay extra every month to keep our number "non-published." These days that is turning out to be a waste of money, as the number is readily available on the Internet.

same as above...robo message says this is not a solicitation.  Yeah, maybe, but the call is to verify that the number works so they can SELL our working numbers to ANOTHER solicitor!  If I got rid of all the scams that call here every day, I might just get some work done.

Volt Delta called - AGAIN - disconnected this call, as before.  If I don't recognize the number, I disconnect - just won't answer.
Being on the Do Not Call registry is an absolute joke.  Spam calls just keep coming thru - at least 2 to 4/day.  

I've filed a complaint with www.donotcall.gov
Their website has info about robo calls... and not to respond to them... just file a complaint.

Got the stupid message 081414 at 230 pm PDT saying verifying phone number and press one.  Absolutely not.  These phone numbers out of New York are usually overseas scam rotating type crooks.  Report number to DNC and in a month they will have changed the number again so they can avoid being caught.  But -- report anyway!
