Something about verifying if the phone number was operational or not.

Had a recorded message today that this was not a solicitation call, just verifying the phone number for directory service and there was nothing further to be done, now that was done.  So how can they verify the phone number when a real person didn't talk to anyone?  Must be all electronic identification?  The message also said if we didn't want further calls, to call 585-362-4104.  Huh?  Didn't bother to call that number.

I received the same message today.  Not calling that number back either.  If I did..... probably get charged hundreds of dollars for the call!  Has SCAM written all-over it.

Sounds like a SCAM to me.  I'm on the Do Not Call list why did I receive this call?

Just got same call

Just got the same call. Sounds like an agency that has been hired by a solicitor to verify viability of numbers. I'm not calling them back either. Since i am on the "Do not call registry" I am hopeful that it will not result in a solicitation.

I rec'vd the same message on my answering machine today:...for directory assistance this is not solicitation...your # has now been verified and no further action is required by me...if I do not wish to be called by this service again please press 1 or call 585-362-4104....................thank you.....and caller ID shows Volt Delta LLC

Wish they would stop! The last 7 numbers are mine as well but just a different (similar) area code. People are calling me and telling me to stop calling them and hanging up!

Received a call from the above number today. I am on the do not call list and would like to know why we receive these calls. Very disturbing.

It is  ploy for additional marketing calls.

I received a call from this number on 02-14-2013. The pre-recorded message stated that they were trying to verify my number, and to press 1  to be removed from their list. I pressed 1, and the response was that I was removed. (Not sure I believe that) They called me at a secondary number I did not have registered on donotcall.gov. I immediately went to donotacall.gov and registered my phone number.

I received the same call. I agree it smells like a scam. As the old saying goes "If it walks like a duck......."

They are compiling a list of "live numbers" to sell to other scammers.

Just received this a call from this number, didn't answer. Message was left as others have described. However, the caller ID showed this number: 585-362-4105  BUT the recording said to call 585-362-4104 to not receive any further calls. There is NO WAY I'm calling that number.

Don't understand how you continue to get unknown calls if on DO NOT CALL list...what's the purpose of the "list"

Here's another report of a call from Volt Delta LLC.  I am a busy shop owner and don't have time for such nonsense.  When they called, I was actually in the middle of a meeting discussing a potentially big government contract.  I don't need such interruptions (even if I did let the call go to voicemail).

If they truly want to "verify" a phone number, all the demon-dialer has to do is verify whether the number produces a ring or an "out of service" tone.  There is no need to leave a message: just let it ring one time and call it good.  Besides, if they did that, they could get through a lot more numbers each day.

Seeing as how they do go to the trouble to leave a message, it does make me suspect that they are wanting people to call back to offer some sort of worthless service for an exorbitant amount of money and that service will probably never be delivered.

It sure would be nice if there were a way to put all scammers out of business once and for all!

This has the markings of a scam.  It is obvious the Do Not Call Registry is not working...
