Scumbag [***] pretending to be from the IRS.  They called and hung up after 3 rings. When I called them by dialing *67 before their number they answered "IRS" with Indian accent. I said why are you calling
me? He immediately said "@%*@-YOU". I cussed him out until he hung up. DON'T fall for this scam. The
real IRS will send you a letter if they want to contact you.

No one can stop the calls, but you can protect yourself with a call blocker and do not pick up on numbers you do not recognize.

yeah soda 585 44471 31 number called me left a voicemail because I did not answer it very garbled had to listen to it several times to make it out what tipped me off was at the end of the message it said something like take care or be safe something like that and I know for a fact our government does not talk like that you're lucky to get a thank you out of them if you really owe them something lol also I'm not a big believer in coincidence and I find it also funny that right after getting off the healthcare network and Obamacare website like literally few hours later I begin receiving these fake Irs calls out of nowhere not that I'm insuseptable to those things no one is just a thought? Also they told me in the recording to only ask for George Smith I did some investigating on that company and that number and it says that they're actually a debt collector? And the they are on the BBB's HotList so to speak they're not even acredible according to the BBB also found out that the name they're using George Smith unfortunately was actually a victim of theirs I just hope the government figures it out and looks into the possibility of maybe hackers getting into the Obamacare website

I just got a recorded call from this number saying they were calling from the IRS. Since they didn't even use my name & weren't identified on Caller Id as being an official number, I knew it was bogus. I worked in telecom for 30+ years & know this is not an official call so don't even waste your time calling them back.

And I've never had any contact with the Affordable Care Act website.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

585 444 7131 called my homr phone, left a garbled message saying it was some "Smith" person from the IRS. Allegedly, Smith had time sensitive info to call back on and to not ignore this message. This is a scam and calls from this number need to stop. The IRS contacts by mail, not some recorded message sent from an autodialer!

585-444-7131 left a computerized voice message saying it was "Julie Smith [garbled word] Internal Revenue Service" and it was urgent to return call before further action would be taken. The number is busy now. Evidently this scam ran out of steam.

I have been having some fun with this idiot. I call him at least 30 times a day and just say nothing. After the first few calls, he stops claiming to be the IRS and he just says hello. He eventually gets frustrated and then shuts his phone off.

This is definitely a scam.  There are three agents on the other side.  One is an indian.  The other two are from two other countries.  First realize that they cannot do anything other than harrass and prey on unsuspecting or uneducated people.  I encourage you to call back, call back often and harrass them.  If enough people harrass them on a regular basis they will either change their number or stop calling.  Every time you call you are fighting back and increasing their angst, reducing their ability to handle other callers who are not aware and increasing their expenses.  I keep their number taped to my wall and every time I feel like having fun or have a few minutes to spare I call and have a curse fight with them.  Join me and make their lives uncomfortable.

This person called and left a message that she was Julie Smith of the IRS and threatened to take action if the call was not returned. What a line of crap. Naturally I didn't return the call and reported them to the FBI, just in case.
