i got an automated call from 585-492-8480 claiming that they were from the IRS and that they had been trying to reach me for a long time and i was a suspect in a tax fraud investigation and wanted me to call at that number. None of this made sense to me. Then i found in other websites that this is a spam call.

Upset Citizen!!! Got a Voicemail from this no. claiming it was from IRS and non-bailable warrant was issued against us with 4 criminal charges!!! The call should not be ignored and need to call back! On calling back, the guy claimed he was IRS Crime Investigation Officer and his name was Sebastian Hobbs. He threatened that criminal charges related to money laundering were pressed against us and cops were on their way to arrest us.. He used everything anyone ever could come up with to scare/threaten: - Assets will be frozen - Arrested in 40 mins and no bail allowed - Deported in 24 hrs - Public notice served - Dependents will be sent to child services DO NOT CALL BACK AND DO NOT TAKE THIS VOICE MAIL OR CALLER SERIOUSLY!!!

My grandma got a call today from 585-492-8480, she could not understand him so she asked me to call back because apparently today was her final notice before getting arrested. I called back and a man named 'Officer Kevin' picked up, I told him I was returning his angry voicemail he left my grandma, he asked for her name and home address then said it was concerning tax fraud and liability for my grandpa (who has been deceased since 2010). Once I told him that he paused, then said 'well there was a cross-call needed, this was a very serious matter and we would have had them arrested, and EVERYTHING, domestic and international assets, would be confiscated but uhhhhh have a nice day bye' and hung up. SO BOGUS! BE AWARE THIS IS SPAM!

I got a call fom this number saying he was from IRS and there was some investigation of fraud against me and they will issue an arrest warrant soon. He did not make any sense but was extremely threatening on the call. He did not have my name so it was a generic meesage but after a lot of threats asked me to make sure to call back the number. i did not as I know this is a SPAM. i checked the number on internet and indeed it was a scam ...Beware and DONOT call back if you get a call from this number

I received the same threatening call/message today. I happened to check this thread while on the call. He know my name and nothing else. When I asked him if this was real IRS or some prank call, he threatened again asking me to wait for the local police to reach out to me and hung up.

I saw a missed call from  number 1 818 175 8836 . The person left a threatening voicemail about us being charged with tax fraud and that there was an arrest warrant out there for us and that they had been trying to reach us for several months. The message said to either call back or have our attorney call back at 585 492 8480 number.I had received a similar call about a month back. Not sure why this person is making prank calls. Can this be stopped somehow?

The only thing you can do call 1800-366-4484 to rebort him to IRS and they will take it from there

He called today. Lately thrre has been several calls. Once my wife started confronting him he started using abusive words..

These people are scammers who take the name of IRS and want Green dot money pak.  unfortunately, the company green dot money pak knows about the scam and does not cooperate in catching these scammers.  

I got it too. Twice now.  Am submitting it on the FBI tip line now.

I got the same theratning massages as above saying that I have a fraught tax dealing and he would lie to speak to me or my lawer, if I don't return the call and ignore it the cops will be there to arrest me, on my answering phone. I think this guy must be mad he needs to be in a mad house for treatment. He must be working or worked at Global Crossing LocalServices Inc., in Arcade. Ny 14009 and using the phone to creat a problem for the company which may be,he is no longer working.

This one sounds more like extortion scam..

i came back from work and retrieve my phone message **the message stated that  it was important to return the call..his name was officer frank and that if i do not return the call that i will be hearing from a lawyer and good luck to me

Got the same call as everyone else today. He was threatening legal action for IRS fraud and wanted to speak to me or my lawyer or I would be arrested. He called a month or so ago too, but I just ignored it. If you get a threatening message from someone at this number you should disregard it completely!

he call me few time left voice mail today i pick up his call he tell me same thing fraud IRS ect.. so i ask him if its anything have to do with IRS i should get letter he say he trying to reach me 18th moths send me mail i never get no mail also i start getting his call since april 1st . i have law office next door first day when i get voice mail i get nervous then they say its fake call ... but its really scarily .

Believe, the way the scam works is that most people will click to return the call right away. These calls have massive per min charges through your cellular services ( third party billing) Never return call from number that you do not recognize anymore.

I had a call 15 min ago. Same like everybody. He was saying that he is from IRS, They are going to arrest me. I need to call my lawyer. So I search this number to Google and everything clear now. Thank you all.

Got the same voicemail yesterday and all this treats doesn't make sense at all, google the number and yes the reviews are helpful.

Please be careful with scammers like that!

These guys would be laughable if they weren't so persistently annoying!  I get several calls a week from them.  I did get through to them once.  Told them I was with the FBI.  They hung up immediately and by the time I hit re-dial, the number had already been disconnected!

Does anybody really believe the IRS outsources its collection enforcement to slumdogs who can barely speak English?
