I've received 2 calls from this number within the past 2 days and each time I answer, they hang up.

Called today.  Let call go to V/M.  They left no message.  Now have blocked this number

Pioneer Credit, bad news.

I called this number back and they were a charity asking for donations. They did not identify as a debt collector - which I believe they are required to do when they speak with someone

Called again the next day. It's a collection agency, don't you believe otherwise.

I block numbers that don't id themselves...

BBB reached out to the business with concerns about the Department Of Education cancelling their contract with Pioneer Credit Recovery and stating the reasons for that cancellation were due to collection agencies who  “weren’t engaging in fair and straightforward practices in compliance with Federal and State laws”.  All accredited businesses are held to a higher standard and we requested that Pioneer respond to the statement made by the Department Of Education.  The business did respond.  Please see a portion of that response below:

The Department's contract with the private collection agencies formally expired in the fall of 2014.  Since that time, the Department has been allowing the collection agencies, including Pioneer, to continue to perform collection services on a month to month basis.  While we were disappointed to hear we would not be receiving a new monthly extension or account placements, the Department's decision in no way impacts our standing with the Department on our eligibility to be selected for the upcoming contract.  This was communicated by the Department directly to our management team.  With regards to any concerns noted by the Department publicly released statements, unfortunately, we have been provided little information and no specific details as to the Department's concerns.  Pioneer has a long track record of assisting individuals who default on their student loan payments to recover from the negative consequences of default.  Since 2012, Pioneer has helped more than 54,000 borrowers in default to rehabilitate their loans. Consistent with our commitment to customer success, we are dedicated to providing high-quality service to our borrowers.

I received a call from this number. They said they were from the policeman benevolence association looking for donations. I hung up at this point and blocked the call with my new call blocker.

I received a call from this number and let it go to my answering machine. They did not leave any message. The number is now blocked.

I called back, person answered said he was Pet, police officer. ???
The number show on the ID  #V20214564400301, they use these kind of numbers when the other is block.
How the telephone companies can not stop this?
