"Out of Area". No message left. My gut says "SCAM!" A comment on another site listed it as a "Police Charity" solicitation.

Showed as unknown caller here but I'm within the 585 area code. I picked up on the 2nd ring disguising my voice like an old person saying Hello over & over to have some fun wasting their time but just silence at the other end for over a minute so I hung up.

I do really enjoy screwing with them when I have the time and usually after I dupe somebody they don't call here again.

called on dec 29 at 3:00pm  585-672-7993 from Rochester, NY Highland Park area  trying to scam us for the Police Charity Fund.. Told him that my wife is Police Officer and he hangs up!! SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!  Police depts don't solicit money for their own     ***call the poilce and forward the callers phone number++++

Male said he was calling for Police Conference of New York. Retired member opps asking what the fund split was and he just hung up!!

Male claiming he was calling for Police Conference of NY.  Police do not call for charitable contributions.  I have bought a NO button that repeats NO 5 different ways.  Just keep pressing the button.  Same call from 3159281700.

Calls and hangs up all times of the day and evenings.  Leaves no message on machine.

The good news is that the whole whistle/air horn thing will damage hearing.  The bad news is that it will be your hearing that is damaged.  That whistle/air horn thing is an urban myth.

Two different numbers have called today. Both of them listed as these "Police Association" scams. So, now the question is "when will the actual police be knocking down their doors?"
