They claimed to be the IRS and threatened to "take action" if I didn't call them back.  I called back and it was answered by someone with an East Indian accent.

Receiving calls from this number, stating this is the irs and their going to take action,  I called back it states the caller is unavailable and the voice mail is full.

I called the number and he asked me if I had an attorney, I told him I don't believe he is the irs and he started cussing me out.. the worst part is that I understood what he was saying!!

Exact same scenario as jane. On top of that it was a computerized female voice. Obviously a scam

This number is definitely being used in the "You owe the government (IRS) SCAM do not answer. THE IRS DOES NOT MAKE CALLS ANY TIME. If they need to contact you they do it by mail. If you have a computer just google IRS Scam and you will find out more than you want to know about it.

Two calls today leaving voicemails about Taxes, 4 serious allegations, police custody if don’t call back. One from 585-861-4105. Called back busy signal. Other call from 917-382-7654. Computerized commercial for Phone Jack then auto message saying, “this phone jack has not been assigned to anyone.” Both are definitely a SCAM. Beware, and do not provide them any information!

Scam call as already noted threatening police action. Don't bother wasting time calling them back unless you want to lead them on wasting their time and money. Just don't provide any real information to them.

Scam, do not call them back and block the number

Well that was a waste of time lol IRS Does not call you if they have any problem with you. They will mail you notifications. These people want your SSI THE IRS ALREADY HAS THIS INFO! DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM. Also most companies only need you to verify the last four of your Social.

I called the number back . The foreign gentleman claimed to be an IRS Agent. They are threatening to put me in jail.... This is not the IRS.

Same as above. Police will take action within 24 hours. Menacing & threatening; claiming to be the IRS.

DO NOT ANSWER!  This is the second time this past month I have received this fake phone message from a female robocaller.  Just as everyone above, the allegations are exactly the same - "four serious allegations pressed on your name" - uh huh, each and every one of us.  Although this is my second call, it is NOT from the same phone number.  So they are phishing around.  Ignore, ignore, ignore.  The IRS WILL NEVER CALL YOU with an initial request - they are REQUIRED to provide WRITTEN NOTICE (not a phone call) of any issues.

I called this number back, they told me they are from the IRS and they are going to put me in jail.  I told them I thought this was a scam and they said, "I like scamming people from this country".   He said he feels very good about himself scamming people.

The voicemail they left sounded fake as it sounded like a robot talking. DONT FALL FOR IT

Yep scam. Couldn’t answer anything with sincerity. I asked him to stay on the line while we trace the number for an INTERPOL investigation lol. He said ok. So why is this something that IRS along with the legal attaches at our embassies investigate???????!?

They don’t say the company. But they say I have numerous accounts against my name and that if not return the call legal action and the local police will come pick me up
