- Roadrun| 4 repliesSaturday afternoon Market Research call- "not a sales call" - wanted to "clean 2 rooms of carpet for FREE" and have feedback on their product ... so this as "product market research - we wouldn't have to buy anything" ... After my husband made an appointment and hung up the phone, I hit redial to cancel the appointment, as nothing is "free", and got the message that "this number is no longer working ..." So I decided the entire thing was bogus. However when they called later in the week to reschedule the canceled appointment, I was given Rhino Kirby West's company phone of "602-841-2819".

- Goodyear, AZ resident| 3 repliesReceived the same phone call, just cancelled the appt since I can not find any information for the company "Rhino Kirby West." Not in the phone book or listed with the AZ Corporation Commission. I called them back to find out if they are licensed, they said "yes" and they are a division of Kirby out of Chicago. But why aren't they listed in the phone book as a local business entity? Trying to find their license to do business...

- diana| 1 replyI worked with this so called company for less than a week. I would have callers telling me that by the time i called them it was their 5th or 6th that day. And when I would try to put them on the "do not call" list they would still pop up. When I asked my manager about it he said their must have been a computer glitch. I could see that happening once or twice not every time. I worked over a month ago and as of yet I have not gotten my paycheck. This company owes me about 200 dollars. I guess Ill never see that money. Dont get your Kirby from this company if you want one Call Kirby yourself. Go through the actual company not a dealer. PS If i ever called you I am so sorry. I work for Circle K now and I am alot happier.

- CalyI got a phone call from a woman stating that they would clean two rooms for FREE!! All I had to do was watch their little deminstration. I got a verfication call from a man at 5:10pm on 10/10/2008 from 602-841-2796 I confirmed the time and waited for them to arrive. I tore apart my living room so that they could do a good job.
Well, They told me that the time schedule was between 6pm and 7pm. I called them at 7:15pm cause they still hadn't shown. They told me that the man to do my carpets vehicle had broken down and that they were going to have to reschedule. My husband called back to complain and see about having a different person in the area come to do them, since we had gone through the trouble of moving things around. When my husband askd for a manager he was told that he was speaking to one. Then that man said they they had the right to refuse service to anyone and he was invoking that right!!! What the hell?? Cause they failed to make an appointment I get refused!! What [***]!! I am on the hunt for the owner and managers of this company. I will not stop until the a**hole is stopped!! This is just crap and anyone trying to run a business shouldn't treat prospective customers as such!!
So, I already have a carpet cleaner and am doing it myself. If you want something done right then I guess you have to do it yourself!!- Caller: Rhino Kirby

- Brittaney| 2 repliesI used to work for Rhino Kirby West as a receptionist and let me tell you it was a little odd working there. My duties were to answer phones and file some paperwork. Very misleading. I had to go to some website and click hundreds of telephone numbers to be added to the calling list for their telemarketing division. I should have been getting paid double for what I was doing. I also answered phones but my main task wasnt to help already existing customers it was to set up interviews for new employees. I am sure you have seen the Mr Mike and Mr Ross and so forth. Main goal of that company is to sucker you in to let them enter your home for a "free cleaning" which is mearly a demo for their overly priced vacuums. I actually had an employee from RK West about a month or two ago come and hand me a free grocery voucher at my home. Come to know he was a friend of my sisters and they got to talking and he informed me how they really don't give out free groceries and it's just a way for them to get your phone number and info. I had already known that cause I worked there but he thought it was the funniest thing. I have no respect for Don either. The reason I left his company was he made a comment about some dirty bum who walked in trying to sell us a used Kirby. After we rejected the man and he left, Don turns to me and asked me if that was my father. My father had just been killed in a serious car accident 2 months prior. Real nice man huh?? Advice: stay clear of the business, if you want a Kirby vacuum get it from the main source in Chicago.

- Bob GreenThis firm continue to call despite the fact that I am listed on the DNC. I have filled a complaint both on the DNC federal site and with the Attorney General. I would advise anyone else who receives calls from these con artists to do the same. Mr. Burkhardt, it cost you $55,000 for this scam in 2005, here's hoping it's more in 2009.

- Michael Stark replies to Hans Brix| 3 repliesAllow me to shed some light on this. This guy “Donald Burkhardt” is a real gem. Actually; he’s a jerk as you can tell by his replies.
The phone call is to schedule an appointment to Sell you a Kirby Vacuum cleaner. They never tell you that.
Oh and “Mr. Miller” does not even exist!!! It is another one of their tools they use to try and pressure you into buying the vacuum. Its is all a lie; they spend an hour or two trying to sell it then if you don’t buy they call “Mr. Miller” and pretend to be asking for a special onetime deal. They do this over and over until you say yes or kick them out of your house. They continue to do this and keep reducing the price until it is less than half of the original quote. The Fake Mr. Miller is supposed to be sympathetic to the salesman who is trying to win a contest. What a Crock!
Bottom line, Don’t let them in your house, don’t schedule an appointment and don’t even be polite to them as they have no respect for the customer at all.

And Mr Burkhardt; No, Michael is not my real name but if you think back to your past I'm sure you can widdle down the list of people you've screwed to Less than 300, or not. Isn't that funny?!?!? - DON replies to Brittaney| 1 replyA list of grocery winners is available upon request.... Thank u
- DON replies to Michael Stark| 2 repliesAnother list of bologna with a fake name.............. It's easy to throw stones when you hide behind a mask.... We sell the best product in the world!!!!!!!!!! And not one of you people has said otherwise... So continue your negativity and see how far it takes you in life.... Positively yours Don Burkhardt
- DON replies to Hans BrixNice language.... glad you said no!
- Michael Stark replies to DONNo one said the product was bad. We are talking about Donald Burkhardt!!! Gee Don, If you could only gather the mental abilities to understand that simple fact.
Donald Burkhardt is an unethical high pressure salesman. He hires kids right out of high school and wraps his message of high pressure sales in terms that sound like self improvement.
ex. He'll tell you to be "persistent", and "Never Give Up" Which really means "don't stop selling, don’t stop selling. don't stop selling". An action that benefits him and does nothing for the self improvement of the young teenagers he preys upon.
He hires his teens as independent contractors yet he demands a schedule from his people which is against independent contractor rules. If they are 5 mins late to a sales meeting they loose the paycheck guarantee that is promised to all new sales people but NEVER paid to them.
He provides a place of business, transportation, he controls what the worker does and how the worker does his or her job and even supplies them with potential customers. He controls the business aspects of the worker’s job, like how worker is paid, whether expenses are reimbursed, and he provides tools/supplies, all against the rules of independent contractor ship as set out by International Revenue Service.
This guy gives the Kirby Vacuum Co a bad name and should be expelled or better; sent to jail.
Would you like me to continue? - Dave| 1 replyTypical open-the-door sales tactics. It's too bad they'd rather spend time mouthing off in forums like this than scrubbing their cold-call list against the Do Not Call like they're supposed to.
