repeated calls even after notifying of wrong number

It's 1:10 PM and I'm at work. I've just received another call from this number even though I've told them I am not supposed to receive calls at my work place. The caller stated his name was Andrew, was very rude, threatening me, and then hung up. I believe this is not within the Fair Credit Reporting Act guidelines for the state of Texas.

My caller ID picked up this number but directed me to call another number, 877-301-7021, a very rude credit agency, it said NCC Business Services.  Wanted me to pay them via credit card over the phone.  I asked for a bill and they said they don't have time to send bills out and that I am to pay immediately or they will destroy my credit.  I told them, no bill, no payment.  I live for the fight so bring it on.

I had a call from Tracy at NCC business. She told me that I had to pay $3000 by the end of the month or they were going to sue me and take away my house car and garnish my wages. I asked what this was for and she could not tell me but she said that she called 100 of times and nobody ever called back. She said that I was refusing to pay by not calling back. I said that I was not refusing to pay that I just want to know what this was for. She asked me to hold on. Another lady got on the phone very nasy yelling at me like she was reading some script and said that I was a wimp and I cant make a payment unless you have your wife that my kids are going to go hungry and she will be happy to see me on the street. she was saying that men that tell them to talk to there wifes about the money are men that wear dresses and she called me an as-Hole and hung up the phone. I called back right after that from another phone and the lady that answered was Tracy and would not give me the name of the company or where they were at. she said that if they called and left a message that they would need me name. I would not give my name but they demanded that I give them a name and phone number. I would not and she said FU-K OFF and hung up the phone.

Got a call from a Ray from NCC Business. He said he called and got a hold of my job (and named it off) and asked if he had the right address and social security number. I stated yes, and was very co-operative about the whole thing. He went over my credit report telling me who I owed what, and what I had out for student loans. I replied that I have retained a lawyer and that I plan on filing chapter 13, Ray told me that he'd contest. I then told him that yes I do have a full time job, but my hours are constantly cut due to the economy. He then told me his son was born in 85, so since I was born in 82 he was going to talk to me like I was his daughter. I replied that he couldn't do that and he went off like a bomb. He said that he's going to report back to my credit card company that I was very rude, snotty, and that I could pay my bill but was being a lazy [***] about it. My lawyer is just lying to me to get my business and that I can't file bankruptcy at 25 with a full time job and only so much in the negative. He would personally make sure that my bankruptcy would be contested by them as well as all the other credit cards that I have out (as he started listing them off with the amounts). I was then informed that a sheriff would be coming after me either at home or at work.

I received a call from (602) 298-0224. I called back and spoke to "Ray." He told me that my mother had a debt and that a fraud suit would be started against her. Does anyone know if this is a scam?

Jen, for future reference, never ever ever confirm your social security number over the phone. In fact, never confirm it with anyone unless you know for a fact it is for something legit like applying for a loan, health insurance, etc. Doing so exposes your credit and your identity. Also, next time they call tell them that you will be recording the call and do so. They will most likely hang up if all they know is how to be rude. Check your local state laws on recording calls. If they don't believe you, you're in for a treat because you now have proof that they have harassed you. You can then sue that company as well as the collector (though you should speak to a lawyer about that specifically). I have been a debt collector for 7+ years and have never understood when coworkers use tactics like that. Not only is it rude but it is also ILLEGAL!

SK - Debt collectors are not allowed to discuss any personal debt with anyone other than the person that owes the money. By him telling you about your mother's debt (whether it is accurate or not) he is violating her privacy rights. What he has done can get the company as well as him in a lot of trouble. You can probably even sue them if you have proof of what happened.

These people keep calling me and asking me to return their call, but they leave no information.  Have they ever sent any information out to anyone concerning the debt they are calling about to collect?  I am receiving phone calls from this number and two other numbers.  I will not call them back because it is a recording and not an actual person leaving a message.

What can we do about this company?  I mean how can we show that we've paid the debt off if they won't send the paper work saying that it's paid in full?  They keep calling, who can we file complaints with about this company?

system that said "this not a sales call or collections call, please press 1 if this is [insert your real name] please press 1". called me on my cell number.

I thought this was relevant an on call system for work and pressed 1. Immediately my work phone started ringing. WHen i picked it up, both my work phone and cell phone line dropped.

Odd technique, creative.

I receive this calls non-stop. I also spoke to an Andrew and he was rude. I tried to make a payment arrangement and he started to argue with me. Before I knew it some other woman is on the line arguing with me.

After  little bit of detective work I found this. Hope it is helpful for any of you wishing to find out more about this company or file a suit.

I had a call today from this number. The guy wanted to know about my son's tenant. I told him I didn't know anything about who he rented to, but gave him my son's cell phone number thinking my son might have a criminal living in his house. After reading about how these people operate, I wish I hadn't given them any information. I don't know what to do.

These dopes called me last week.  I told them that someone else had our power of attorney and I gave the guy the information. My attorney's name and phone number.  He thanked me and then hung up.  Just tonight I get a call from them again.  They had called my husband at work and embarrassed him.  He told them to call me.  I told them they had no right calling me when I had given them my attorney's number.  She claimed they hadn't recieved any information.  I told her that she would need to contact them.  She would not take the information down and told me that they do not work with third parties.  Which is an outright lie.  I have filed a formal complaint with the FTC and suggest everyone else does.  I have read a lot about this company and they need to be shut down for their business practices.  I cannot believe they are still allowed to continue doing business.  They are horrible.  I feel that my time with them is not over yet.

Can these people actually garnish your wages from work?  These people are f'ing ruthless!  I have not actually spoken to them yet as I have read what you have said on these forums.  However, they keep calling my work and they have pretty much spoken with every department at my company..

All the stories i'm reading seem about the same.  This 602-298-0224 number has called me 3 times and once I called back and the guy who answered immediately asked for my social security number.  I refused that of course but gave them my number since they had already called it.  They said something else to me but it didn't make sense and the man on the phone got very uptight, rude and was very nasty on the phone and said something along the lines that do you want ur credit to be ruined or not?

By this time he got all pissed off and hung up the phone after I had called him an a**hole.  I then looked them up online and was still unsure about them and I also don't have anything outstanding besides my typical car loan and school loan.  I took the opportunity nd ran my own credit report and its fantastic.  So I believe this is a SCAM.

The person they are calling in unknown to us, we explained this to them but they keep calling.

Our telephone number has been placed in the National Do-Not-Call list.

We are seniors and do no want to be harass day and night.
