They sent me a fake message telling me my Visa-Card starting with 4852 has been placed on hold and to please call.
DO NOT CALL THEM!!

Same thing as previous, got a text message that said:

CU~WEST Notice:  Your Visa-Card starting with 4852 has been
placed on hold. Please call 602-412-3257.


Definitely don't call them.

Got a text message with the same thing on it. Saying my visa card was on hold.

I just got this msg. Why do you say not to call.  What is it about? Not out of curiosity, just to know who this msg is from.  Please inform.

I just got one too with the exact same message and same visa-card number. That is weird... Anyone have any ideas?

I got this text tonite also. CU WEST Notice:  Your card starting with 4852 has been deactivated. Please call 602-412-3257. I don't even have an account with CU West also known as Credit Union West.

So I received this text tonight and called the Phoenix Police Department. I figured out this is a landline in Phoenix (through reverse phone number lookup).

The Phoenix PD had the same report filed today.

They really gave me no resolution to this issue. If I were them, I would go to the residence of this phone number.

Well this is def a scam. The email isn't even for a bank and every bank and fraud department has a 1800 number.

I recv,d. A call also. I called the number but did not give any info. Senior citizen, do not handle these issues very well.  Appreciate note from Sean. Will also report. My present concern is I sent back a text message stating this is a fraudulent card and not to open any accounts in my name(no personal info given) however, they will probably have my name from the text message. Should have concern over this.

I received a text from them too and I called and it said to punch in your account number.  I don't even have an account with them and now I am wondering what they can do now that I have called this number.  Has anyone called the number?

Yes, I have called this number. When calling this number enter it as *67 602-412-3257 so that your # is blocked. I called this number numerous times throughout the early morning hours to show my appreciation to those responsible for this scam. If you call from a blacked number, you will not be given the option to enter any information and someone will pick up the line....and if you're like me, you'll be sure to voice your opinion of them once they do.

I got exactly the same text.  "Your Visa-Card starting with 4852 has been placed on hold.  Please call 602-412-3257."  Completely freaked me out so I called but the number has already been disconnected.  I'm curious to hear what they said to you when you called.  So much for not being gullible.

It is a clear phishing scam.
And just so you know *67 only works for home and cell phone lines, not on commercial T1 PRI lines, so beware of the use of *67 , when you call any call center using these method, they still get your number.
Try calling any sort of support line with *67  and ask the agent to see if it shows the caller ID, (it will) I work as a consultant setting up call centers
