- Don'tTred| 5 repliesI'm already on the National Do Not Call Registry, so there is no reason why someone should have to add their name to the "in house Do Not Call list" -that's ridiculous.
I received a call from them today that pushed me to try and others who google the number... I told their telemarketer that I was on the DNC Registry, to remove me, and he persisted and said they are just a quality assurance/research program that contacts people after having magazine sales. He asked if I had been contacted by teens selling magazines, I said yes but thought the teens making home to home magazines are often criminals (many home burglaries right around that time, w/ 1 being convicted). He got mad and called me judgemental based on appearances, and that I must have been a paying customer to these criminals and that I was "breaking federal laws by harrassing him." He said that I could be charged for a crime. Well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out he is not law enforcement -nor does he know anything about criminal law. I reminded him that he called me, and actually they are the ones who appear to be harrassing me -especially since I'm on DNC Registry. I then asked to speak with his supervisor. The supervisor tried to sell me a "rebate" and extend my magazine subscription to 'Shape' -that I haven't had in over 4 years. Magazine sales tactics sure have aggressively gone down hill over the past 10 years...which is why I avoid subcriptions.- Caller: napsci

- North American replies to Don'tTred| 4 repliesFirst, we apologize for the unprofessional behavior of one of our agents. From your description our agent appears to have been rude and acted in a way that is not acceptable. We are in the process of finding this agent and we will take whatever action is necessary to prevent this from happening in the future.
The reason you were called was because of your established business relationship with your magazine subscription agent. Even if your number is on the National Do Not Call Registry, you can still be called by companies that have an established business relationship with you.
If you don’t want to be called by a company that you have an established business relationship with, you need to be added to that company’s in-house do not call list.

If I knew which "company I get my magazines from" I would've called them sooner to tell them to bugger off! Glad I found this link, hope to heck it works.
- Caller: "the company I get my magazines from" of course
- Theodore Onions replies to North American Service Company Inc| 2 repliesAnyone who identifies themselves as "the company you get your magazines from" is not playing straight.
- Adam replies to North American| 2 repliesThe company I subscribe magzines from? That sounds a little vague...and shady. Nice try.
- Brian replies to North AmericanI got a call from this # also, but I *DID* recently order magazines from a door-to-door sales person. It was a sales person that was overcoming hardship and doing something for themselves by working by selling magazines and getting 'points'. No message was left on my machine.
- Not so shady replies to Adam| 1 replyand you sound like a moron. "Shady" companies do not come here to defend themselves. Don't be such a tool.
- Playing Straight replies to Theodore Onions| 1 replyand you're not playing with a full deck. moron
- cardsharp replies to Playing StraightBut at least they're not letting you STEAL THEIR MONEY!
Go back to you boiler room hole, worm. - Melissa CEmoI don't trust anyone who doesn't even tell me their company's name! I don't order magazines and I am not going to trust calling someone who doesn't even give me enough information to look them up.
- Tom H replies to North American Service Company IncI did recently order a magazine, and I am happy to see this telemarketing company actually attempting to be informative and play it straight by updating sites like this with helpful information on how to respond.
The people flaming this company for posting are hurting their own cause. If a legitimate company cannot offer to help without being libeled in the process, then what is the point of this site.
As for the business practice of using magazine subscriptions as a way of attempting to reintegrate difficult to hire people, it is a risky but commendable practice that I hope succeeds well more than not. I wish both the soliciting company and this apparently straight up telemarketing company success. - JanetI received a call from this agency today and they were able to assist me with all the magazines for my five stores all because I bought a magazine from some nice young lady at my door. The cost and the convenience of electronic payments was also very convenient and professional. Not to mention, any company that has an A plus rating with the bbb has to be doing something right.

- that guy replies to Not so shadyand you're a moron that doesn't understand what a mouthpiece is, they'll say what you want to hear, are you really that gullible?
- Stacey FoxThis is a solicitation from "the company you get your magazines from". Basically it is a sales call to get you to pay for your magazines through them instead of from the publisher. They claim the prices will be cheaper than what you pay now and will "throw in" a subscription to a couple of more magazines for a cost of $5-something a month charged to your credit card. Well, $60 a year for the couple of magazines I actually get is 3 times what I pay normally. So no thanks.

- JBYes, this company started calling me after a subscription ran out that I purchased from a door-to-door teen. It sucks that they basically have to introduce themselves as "the company that you get your magazines from", but whatever.
Listen to their current offer.. make your decision. Easy enough.- Call type: Telemarketer
- ConradComplete and utter spammers. Don't trust these guys, report them to the FCC every single time they call you.
I have never subscribed to any magazines in my entire life and these assclowns keep spamming my mobile phone, which costs me money. In effect, they are stealing money from me and I intend to file a lawsuit if the calls don't end immediately.- Caller: Spammer
