Received a message from Jonathan Lopez at MX/Amex (unclear what he said) Energy about our "electric account."  Never head of this provider! Left the call-back number of 800-836-6961 x5586, but caller ID number was 1-602-516-1062.

This morning I received a call from 1 (602) 516-1062.  The man calling wanted to speak with the person who handles our natural gas account; however, he was calling a private cell phone number and we don’t have natural gas.  When I asked how he got this number because it was private he continued to ask if we had natural gas.  I continued to ask how he got this private number until he gave up, apologized, and asked if I would disregard the call.  The caller would not re-identify the company or provide a name.  Something screams SCAM!!!!!

Got a call from Robby MX Energy. This is a scam as I don't have my number registered with this at all.

He gave this number to call him back. 1-800-836-6961 E 2243

Received three calls in three days from Yolonda Johnson wanting to talk about our gas account. She left call back of 800-836-6961 X4461 but caller ID showed 602-516-1062.

I reported the calls to the Indiana Attorney General as I'm on the do not call list. I hope they get fined.

Alicia Jones wants me to return her call at 800-836-6961 extension 5581 concerning a natural gas account that I do not have.  For 2 weeks it has been Mr lopez whom I can not understand his speech.  I'm suppose to pick my supply company pr energy provider ?  I am on a do not call list also and this is not a cell phone number.

Received a call from Jose; identified company as Amex Energy.  Left a number to call - 1-800-836-6961 x3362.  Wants to talk about my natural gas account.

This gentlemen has called me everyday for 1 week.

Have had 2 messages from 605-516-1062 saying they are calling about my natural gas account and that I need to call back.  The second one identified her name as Delsa Tumby and left 800-836-6961 as a call-back number.  When I did call back to tell them to take my name off the list (I'm on a do-not-call list and do not have utilities in this office building) I was put on hold and subjected to a scare announcement about hurricanes causing increases in the cost of natural gas.  When the person came on the line and I explained that I wanted to be taken off the list, they hung up.  Clearly a scam!

I just recieved a call from this company on my cell phone and like others that have commented on this issue, my numbers are also on the do-not-call-list.  They also wanted to speak to the person responsible for paying the natural gas bill.  If sounded fishy so I googled the number on-line and to my amazement I was right.  David, The Manager, as he stated is supposed to call me again on February 1st.  I will then have a little advice for him and his company for calling my unlisted number.

I just got a phone call from the same Arizona number.  I had just moved so I don't have a gas account number. (At least not one that I was willign to look up for them) "Anita" seemed confused and then the Manager came on the line. He said I needed to call my gas company for my account number and one of his associates would be calling me back in a half hour to get the information and get me signed up on a "Price Point Protection Plan". I called my gas company and they are not affiliated with anything of that sort. Now I am almost hoping that Anita does call me back so that I can inform them of the research I found about their bogus company.

I am so glad I thought to google the whole number! If it seems like a fishy deal, then it probably is!!

Received a telephone call today (Monday Feb 4, 2008) at 1:02 pm from MX Energy concerning my natural gas account. My business does not have an natural gas account. MX Energy has a web site (http://www.mxenergy.com/) and offers natural gas supplier plans in my state.  The plans are included in the Public Utility Commission approved vendor list.  The MX Energy natural gas rates are very high and only a fool would sign a contract with them.  MX Energy must have gotten my telephone number from an old Chamber of Commerce (CofC) listing, the company is no longer a CofC member.

Received a call on 2/26/08. Got a sales pitch from a woman who said she was calling from Spark Energy. She said their company could save me money on my natural gas bill. I was suspicious and for kicks I asked her questions which she couldn't answer and she handed the phone to a guy. He said he works with Spark Energy and he needed information from me to see if we qualified to get on a special program to get our natural gas prices reduced through PG&E. I He asked for my PG&E account information and I told him I didn't have it available, He then said he'd get a PG E representative on the phone and we could have a conference call and she could guide us through the process. The first question she asked was
"What is your social security number?"
CLICK! I hung up on them immediately.

I got a call from this place last week and yesterday.

Glad I checked this site and know for sure it is a scam.

Seems it is a small ring of scammers as the same girl called both times.

These people should be ashamed of themselves.
I hope they don't sleep at night.

BTW-
get on the Do Not Call Registry.
If you warn them you are on that, you can sue them if they call again.

I got a pleasant-sounding voice message at my office phone from Hector Navarro from Spark Energy with the callback # 888-868-3611 and extension 1784 (that other people have reported on this website) "regarding your natural gas account." The caller ID was 602-516-1062.

After reading these entries, I see how bad they really are. I thought it was just someone calling my number by mistake. I shake my head thinking about these scammers making all this effort to take advantage of well-meaning people.

Got a call from Alex Alcantara (sp?) wanted me to return a call to 1-800-836-6961 x1136. The number seems to be an AZ area code.  I believe, like the poster above said, that they got my number off a chamber of commerce website. This is the 2nd different CofC solicitation I have got today.  Starting to get annoying

This is not any different from the previous posts.  The caller leaves message including name, phone number, and extension.  It is in regards to my electric account, but the company is not my electric provider.  I am on a do not call list and am quite annoyed that a telemarketer got through.

From time to time I receive a call from someone asking to speak to the person responsible for my PG&E account.  I do not have a PG&E account.  They call my business number and I am a tenant of a 35-story building and I do not pay the utilities.  Can't get them to talk to me, they just repeat the same thing and apparently do not hear my end of the conversation or argue that I HAVE to have a PG&E account otherwise how do I have utilities.  I have asked them to stop calling but they don't hear that either.
