I found this message board (and I'm glad I did) because my mother-in-law doesn't have a computer & asked me to look up info online for her about some wonderful affordable "Family Care" health coverage offer... apparently they called her from this number (which she got off her caller ID) and told her about a $99-per-month health plan that would miraculously meet all of her medical needs. Mom evidently didn't get any suspicious vibes from the call, but was a little stumped when the operator said that she would call back tomorrow after my mom (who probably sounded sincerely enthusiastically interested) had had a chance to think about it and find her credit card; the operator left no contact information, and the more I asked Mom for specifics on the company and the offer, the more I smelled a rat. Mom did try to call the number back for more info, but got that recording that only gave an option to opt-off their calling list (but didn't mention a company name or anything like that).
Great New Security System? Health Care Plans? This is obviously a business that uses deliberately predatory techniques, and is counts on the average American's fears and anxieties to pull off the scams. I hope they're found and shut down before they take advantage of too many more people. I'll try to get around to calling the BBB and looking into the Arizona consumer affairs bureau's contact info, I hope I have time. This kind of thing REALLY pisses me off.
