Another junk call around dinner time. No message was left.  I've been getting a lot of these "Phoenix, AZ" numbers.

Got a call just now. Like the above, he said his name was Mark Morrison. When I asked what it was about? No answer. I hung up.

Did not answer phone and called back.  Outgoing message does not identify company name and just says all of their representatives are busy.  The outgoing message then asks you to press a number if you received a call by error.  I did not press a number and have added it to my blocked call list.  Like the person above, I have been receiving a lot of these calls that show up as Phoenix on caller ID lately.  Someone must be highjacking actual phone numbers to use for fraudulent purposes.  If I had been in the mood, I would have answered and played along to see what the scam was, reporting it to the Do Not Call service, as they do appear to be making effort to stop these types of calls.

As above. But I answered. "Mike Morrison" said they were from the Police Association and wanted  a donation. Any little bit would help. Asked how much and he said as little as $15.00. I said that would work but then he asked me 3 times if I was okay with that amount and each time I said I was afraid to say the word because of a scam going around. Still laughing. He hung up!

7th call in last two days from seven different numbers, all selling the same scam, same name.
According to my son the cop, FOP DOES NOT MAKE THESE CALLS!
I just take phone off the hook and don't say anything. Ties them up for at least a FEW minutes.
Time for FTC to stomp on them.

I have received several calls so far this week from this # and another one (602-737-0122).   Both #'s are spoofed and they are being used for an ongoing charity scam. The numbers seem to change every several months but it is the same scam, same pitch, etc....  Claims to be representing the Fraternal Order of Police.   They must be stealing enough money to keep the scam going because it has been at least 2 1/2 years now and it has not stopped.   Besides simply not answering the phone (or blocking the #), make sure you tell folks you know and maybe that will have an additional impact on their success.

Have told these people a dozen times that we are on the national do not call list......make no difference.  Most of these scam telemarketers seemed to get a pass over the past 8 years, while the administration looked the other way and ignored penalizing them for calling people on the do not call list. That should be changing now. Think about it; did the number of telemarketing/scam charity type calls increase for you over that time? A decade ago, I didn't get any calls like this; just the occasional charity looking for clothing donations and political calls during campaign season. We must get 15-20 a day on some days. When you work from home, it is very disruptive. I will be taking one of the worst of these companies to court soon. (credit card services)
