Scam. Says he's calling from the internet offices (Wtf??). I toldhim he's a liar.  He said they got a message from my computer (what computer, it broke about a year ago). I told him to F.O.  and to get over himself.  He isn't so smart where he can think he is above everyone and outsmart the world.  Then I hung up on him after a few more colorful words.  😉

It's STILL as simple as DO NOT ANSWER IF IT IS A NUMBER YOU DO NOT RECOGNIZE and preceded by "unknown" or a spurious "toll-free" number. And/or do the quick pickup/hangup routine. I have done this regularly and had just ONE scam call this week, Today, from this number. And I did the pickup/hangup, they haven't called again. Give it a chance, it DOES work.

THIS IS A SCAM!  These people keep calling me and claiming to be with windows and saying that I have a problem with my computer.  They have called under many different numbers and I have reported it to the police but I am afraid that some people may believe them.  They are trying to get into your computer and get information that would be haserous to you.

Just had the same thing happen to me. This guy was trying to get y CLSID from a windows machine.  I run on a MAC and I let him walk through all of his procedures.  The scary thing here is he was able to tell me my address. He said his name was Markus Blaze and I told him I need to call him back.  He gave me a phone number of 859-587-9444 to call him back at, and he said he was with a company called Help With My PC.  Fat chance of that happening. This is a scam. The goal of this particular scam is getting administrative privileges to your computer by impersonating your ISP, Microsoft, Google, or whatever they're trying to pitch and have you enable remote access to your computer or have you install something from some random website (a phishing site, most likely) the scammer provides. while this scam is obviously nothing new (with little research needed on the internet to confirm that), it was new to me.

I had this number call yesterday - no message. Today, I picked up (Arizona number). It was a foreign guy claiming he was with Windows and that my IP address showed that someone was doing some hacking activity on my computer. He asked if I was home in front of my computer, which I said I wasn't.

I just received a call from a foreign man saying he was calling about my Windows.  He told me that they were receiving messages that I was having internet threats against my computer. I asked again who he was and he said Marcus and that he was calling on behalf of Windows about computer errors that my computer was sending indicating there are viruses and threats.  I knew it was a scam and I told him I don't have Window.  He responded very loudly "WHAT?"  And I said that I don't ever use Windows.  He then hung up. SCAM

Received call from 602-907-2109.  Caller sounded Hindu.  He advised he is a representative of Windows and my computer sent them an error message that it was receiving "threats" and I would need to go online so he could correct the "issues".  I asked how it was possible my computer notified him without my knowledge and how he obtained my cell phone number.  Oddly enough he knew my correct computer name and home address.  I asked for a call-back number which he gave as 859-879-9444 which does not exist.  Very peculiar and very disturbing.  Still not sure what to make of it.  Be Aware kids.

Some of these scammers actually work in customer support centers. They copy customer information from their work computers then take it home and run their scams from internet cafes or even their homes. If you have been infected with malware it could be sending information to the scammers and have captured information from your computer. To be safe, run a scan with a good malware remover.
