Got a call from this number at approx. 9:30 AM EST. It started as a collection type call with the automated women's voice saying my name, then a woman voiced over saying that my name and ss# were associated with fraud and that 2 charges were going to be filed against me in my county. She left a case number and return number saying that I needed to call her before summons were issued. When I called the number back the phone went straight to some strange hold music and then a woman who identified herself as Michelle answered. No company name. I looked up the number with a reverse search. Its coming up as a Manchester NH landline listed under Bonneville & SO, but no other info. Since I have not committed any fraudulent acts and have no alerts on my credit, I would imagine its a scam to get personal info or money, or some new bullying tactics of a collection agency.

Received a call from them, they left a voicemail concerning "misappropriation of funds" for my deceased ex-husband, with a call back number and case number. I called them back, spoke with Monica, and was told they were collecting a debt for Capital One. I informed them that my ex-husband was deceased so they might go ahead and 'write off' that debt and then remove my number from their database immediately.

Received a call from the same number - threatening a summons for unpaid debts, etc.  Looked this up found it was a scam.  There should be some way to stop this sort of nonsense.

I got a message from the number above, and they said there was fraudulent activity that I was going to be prosecuted for. Apparently, I'm supposed to call back with my case number, or I will forfeit my rights to avoid prosecution. I got a case number, too. The person who left the message is Mary Ann Delozier.

Ignore these messages. They are a scam. I will probably notify my local police, too. The name below shows up when I search for the phone number at whitepages.com.

Received a call stating that I owe a debt and they were filing papers with the court and my rights to deny the claim would be lost if I didn't respond right away. When I called back and tried to get information on what I owed, that I never received paperwork to prove the debt. I was told that I owed 2500 and I would need to make a payment of 350 to avoid further action being taken. I stated that I did not have that in my account and was asked what I could pay then. When I again requested a written statement proving the debt, she said I didn't need to worry about that. I was hung up on again. When I called back I asked for the supervisor, I was told that "no one wanted to deal with my nonsense" and I was hung up on again. I then researched the number and found that this is a SCAM. I called back letting them know I was reporting them to the FTC.

Notice that the calls only began coming in to people from this number in March.  The identical calls were coming in previously from these numbers:  (701) 491-7812 and (202) 803-4955.  They keep moving because what they are doing is illegal, and they must hide themselves in order to stay ahead of the law.

This is definitely a scam, and it is a violation of Federal Law at best.  They are attempting to collect on aged debts for which they cannot legally sue.  The debts have been written off, settled, paid, and in many cases are wholly invalid.

If you get these calls, please report them to the Federal Trade Commission, the Consumer Protection Agency, and the State Attorney General's office (in the state where the calls originated).  Other options include contacting the FBI and your local or state police.

Capital One is the primary organization for whom they claim to be collecting.  Capital One has advised numerous complainants to NOT give these people money.

Do NOT give them ANY information.  Definitely DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY.

You will not receive a summons.  You will not go to court.
    I promise.

This numbered me 3 times. I called back no answer. I called 411 and asked to trace the number they have no listing.  I called the name that showed on caller I.d., its a car dealership in Manchester, N.H. This is crazy. My friend told me there is a app for smart phones that can get and use to disguise your voice and use people or company names. So this may be a scam to get money.  And the case number sounds crazy.

same thing happened to me this week....it's been three calls and a threat on the third call before the 'court' would issue a summons to appear.....then they say they want to confirm your address and place of work......so they don't know i'm disabled and do not work?  it sure is a scam!.......but if at all true, i might as well wait for that court order as by law they have to tell you what it is for....then you would know whether that is yours or not....be blessed and not fooled!

Received the exactly same type of call today for my fiancee he gets these scam calls all of the time, the number is 603-296-2314 , after they called and plugged up my land line for a good ten minute long crap story I immediately called them back told them I knew in my gut they were liars no good thieves and that scammers always get theirs! I also told the old woman that answered I was promptly reporting them to the FTC. She quickly slammed the phone down in my ear. From there I tracked the number myself just as the young lady earlier did to some mask company a dealership in New Hampshire. I am considering calling that dealership and alerting them to the fact their reputation is being smeared all over the place by these useless wastes and perhaps the dealership can sue them. Ya think?well we can hope . Otherwise no worries they arent getting anything from us just as I hope they never get anything from anyone ever. Good luck all and keep the reports coming ,We'll catch the [***] :)

I received a phone call this morning from this number and it was picked up by my answering machine. I googled the number and found this site and realized these people have already got me for $500 about 2 years ago. This scam was about some car loan I got in Florida. I said well seeing as I have NEVER been to Florida and have never bought a car with a loan they had the wrong person. The scam two years ago regarded a payday loan I got when I was 19. They called and said I was gonna go to jail blah blah blah. So I paid the $500 then called the payday loan company and they explained to me that these people use their company to scam people out of hundreds of dollars. I have since paid off said payday loan with the actual company.  These people need to get lives and get a job and stop scamming people out of the money people work hard for. Im a single mother and that money they scammed me out of cost me my apartment. There has got to be something we can do regarding these people. The first one that got me I did forward all of their information to the FBI per the loan companys request. These people make me sick. Stop being scum and get a job.
