I recieved this call today but they didn't give their name or location. The caller ID said it is only in NH.
If anyone knows more about them let us know.

Ive been getting these same calls too. They only let it ring like 3 times and then hang up. Anyone know who this is? its annoying....

I got this caller too. Sounds like a credit collection agency to me.

I got a call from this number this morning they asked for a relative of mine and all they said was they were an operator and I hung up on them.  I also have a feature thru my phone service that lets me block them from calling again.  Sad thing is as soon as I blocked them they called MY cell phone.

I just got a call from this phone number myself and they wouldn't leave a message.  Therefore, I have no need to talk to them.  I feel that if it was important enough they would have left a message.  Believe me telemarketers DO get a hold of cell phone number I don't care what people say.  I have gotten telemarketing calls on my cell phone.  Hence, reason I don't answer private numbers nor phone numbers I don't recognize!!!

I answered the phone and they said my name and ask if I was there and I said no because that this is a telemarker well as soon as I said no she ask me if I had a husband and I said no. I asked if I can take a message she said no need too, and hung up. Who is this person? And how did they get my number because I'm on the Do Not Call List?

They have been calling my house and looking for a relative. I told them I did not know how they got this number and the guy mumbled something fast about finding a relative. I am assuming it is a collection agency and they are finding peoples relatives to get to them.

I got a call on my mothers phone one day for a Marion Selner and when I asked my mom about it she says they call her all the time. That is not my moms name and they refuse to stop calling her. What should we do?

Under the TCPA, a consumer has a right to file a lawsuit and recover $500 for each call that violates the TCPA. The TCPA can also be used in conjunction with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in some situations.  

Generally, the TCPA does not apply to debt collectors making collection calls to debtors. However, if you are subjected to calls from a debt collector and you are not the debtor, you may file a lawsuit against the debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the TCPA.

This right was recently recognized by Judge Legrome D. Davis in a case called Watson v. NCO Group, Inc.  NCO Group is a debt collector that uses automated prerecorded collection calls.  In this case, Mr. Watson alleged he was getting hundreds of calls from NCO Group after he got a new phone number. Mr. Watson claimed he owed no debt to NCO Group, Inc.  Mr. Watson filed suit under both the FDCPA and TCPA.

David Israel, defense lawyer for NCO, argued that the TCPA should not apply to debt collectors.  Judge Davis rejected the argument made by David Israel. The judge ruled that Mr. Watson had a right to sue NCO Group Inc under the TCPA for $500 for each call.  Judge Davis wrote;

[The] Court is convinced that a non-debtor's rights are in fact violated when he is subjected to repeated annoying and abusive debt collection calls that he remains powerless to stop.

Judge Davis' ruling was based upon his interpretation that collection calls to non-debtors violate the privacy rights provided by the TCPA.  

So what can you do if you receive "wrong number" calls from debt collectors?

1. Sign up for the Do-Not-Call registry.
2. Save the calls captured by your voice mail or answering machine.
3. Contact a consumer lawyer.

I had a problem with them calling my # also, they were looking for someone else. I told them they had wrong # and they promised to take my # off. Well they continued to call me. So I started calling them! I would ask about the weather and such. I told them That seeing as they continued to call me that they must be lonely and that I had plenty of time to chat. and that I added them to my friends and family plan:) And that I would continue to call them 5 time's for every time they called me. NEVER heard from them again!!

Received a call from 603-326-6082 from Alphonso of ARS from 800-440-6613X3159.  didn't say why he was calling.  Not calling back either
