Got a call from this number, didn't answer.  A woman named Joan Kane left a message saying that I'd won a big gift package, due to my filling out an entry form at the Fisher Cats game.  I'd entered to win a jersey and free tickets to a future game, and they gave that away at the ballpark.  I didn't call back, I googled the number and found this page.  Now that I see that I really didn't win anything, I blocked the number.

Thanks for the note, I was on edge when the call came, because I don't recall signing up for a resort raffle, all I wanted was baseball tickets

I got the call as well.  I am going to write the FisherCats and ask how a simple raffle to win a T-shirt and Tickets can turn into a ploy to get your home and cell phone numbers.

I think the FisherCats, if they are going to allow a raffle, should, at least, keep your phone numbers away from people like these.  I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

I received a call today from this number with a message that I won airline tickets from Steele Hill Resorts through a contest on WMUR.com.  I had entered to win Star Wars in Concert tickets.  So glad to have sites like this...knowledge is power!

Got a call after filling out a 'win a trip' giveaway at Fisher Cats stadium I received a call from the company, her name was Linda, this morning stating that I won a $3,800 trip. Upon verifying my contact information they asked to verify my income of over $50k. I had recently left my job so I answered that information was not verifiable as I am now self-employed. Linda replied "oh, I'm sorry but you don't qualify now for this giveaway" and hung up the phone. It is a scam similar to the time-share scams and the Fisher Cats should be ashamed to allow this to occur in their ballpark! The number I was instructed to call is 603-581-2338.

I received a call from Brandi at Steele Hill Resorts about a package i won after filling out raffle entry at Fisher Cats game. They stated that I would have to pickup the package at Steele Hill Resort and yes listen to their pitch about timeshares and take a tour of the hotel....They stated that I won 4 roundtrip airline tickets.    So has anyone showed up and taken the tour and not signed up for timeshares and gotten the airline tickets... ????

I got a phone phone call saying I won 4 airline tickets too but needed to pick them up at the Steele Hill resort.  I do not think I actually won anything is I have to work that much to get the prize.... I would be very careful and do your research.  The resort does look nice on line but in these times I do not have the money or time to waste.

I got a call Brandi saying that I won from a raffle I entered at Topsfield Fair.  They have been calling me since October and now it is mid-November!  I called back after seeing everyone's posts and it was just a voice recorded message asking me to leave a message to have someone call me back.

It's funny because when I entered the raffle, I specifically asked the person if my address and phone number were to be kept confidential and if this was a hoax and she smiled and said it was legit and showed photos of previous winners!  I should have known better!

Yes my family and I drove 31/2 hours to take this tour. They put us in a really cheezy room which they told us they will reimburse the $50.00 on our credit card. I'm sure I will have to follow up on that. They gave us the thier best time share pitch and at the end we declined. They gave us our gift package. 4 round trip airfairs but you have minimum time requirements in very expensive hotels, so they really aren't worth anything and you can only have two people to a room, so if you have two kids, you'll have to book two very expensive rooms a night. They also gave a 3 day two night package which is very limiting as well and a hundred dining card that you can use but it's 10. 00 here if you spend 20.00 and so forth and so on. In my opinion very very cheezy and definately not worth it.

I know for a fact that not a single person called any of you from Steele Hill and told you that you WON a travel package.

I have lived in the Lakes Region my entire life. I know many families that own at Steele Hill (yes, even locals love it). I attended dozens of birthday parties there when I was younger. Steele Hill is a nice resort with a traditional charm to it. No, it's not fancy, but it's nice. The rooms are not five star but they are not one star either. The amenities are their strong point.

Steele Hill is not a chain resort, it's a family owned business that has grown since the 1930s. They are also with the Summit in Laconia (a more up to date resort). Steele Hill sponsors many events in New England. At these events, they do drawings. Yes, someone really wins what they entered for. Everyone else's forms (that qualify) are used for a promotional giveaway. It says on the entry form that your information is not shared elsewhere. It's not. The information stays exclusively with Steele Hill. Steele Hill's telemarketers are on site, not an outside source.

Was your call forwarded to a machine? Each marketer has their own callback number. If they are on the phone or not working, that is why you don't get an answer, but THEY WILL CALL YOU BACK. The calls are recorded to cover your [***] and theirs. You can use that against them if they've done something wrong or lied. They can use it against you if you didn't listen well enough, made assumptions, and are now furious over your own stupidity.

They specifically tell you that you are selected. Ask them if you won. You will be told it's not considered a winning, it's a promotional giveaway. You haven't spoken to anyone? Any messages left say specifically that you were chosen. Never will they tell you that you have won anything. NO ONE HAS TOLD YOU THAT YOU WON ANYTHING.

The event they sponsor is not involved in the giveaway. As a thank-you for promoting their event, the event allows Steele Hill to promote themselves at the event.

When you go to acquire your gifts you are taken on a physical tour of the resort and listen to a presentation on their timeshare. You do not have to purchase anything to receive EVERYTHING the telemarketer told you that you were selected for.

Steele Hill does not offer these giveaways to get you to by timeshare. The purpose is to promote the resort itself. Steele Hill is a full service resort. You don't have to be an owner to stay there. It's worth more to the resort to do the giveaways to have the public see what they have to offer (besides timeshare), than to run TV ads. Steele Hill has awesome amenities, especially for those who love New Hampshire. They also do beautiful weddings with views of the lakes and mountains. Steele Hill obviously would like if you bought into their program, but that isn't the main idea. If you thought the resort was nice but had no interest buying into anything in the first place, that is the point! Word of mouth is their main advertisement.

The package itself? They buy this package from a travel agency that gives them a business discount for buying in "bulk." Then they just give them away. Your cost in attaining the package is time and gas. If someone buys into a timeshare, they don't even get more gifts than those who do not buy.  Your cost within the package: The hotels in the package major chain hotels and not associated with Steele Hill in any way. You are responsible for your own hotel room. You must choose from the listed hotels. Rates don't exceed around $400/night but most are under $200/night. They tell you it is a COUPLE'S GETAWAY PACKAGE. That is why the best way to use it is for TWO COUPLE GETAWAYS. It is not meant to be a family package! Don't want it? Give it away as gifts! While you are on vaca, you are on vaca. That means no other timeshare tours! The package is an actual travel/vacation package, not a promotion within a promotion within a promotion, etc.

Don't want to fly? Family vacationer only? There is an alternative package you can ask for. Ask if they have something family orientated or tell them you don't like to fly. They will begin offering you a different package (some think it's better than the airline tickets).

Seriously, it's not a scam or the region would have run them out of business. We are protective of our reputation and integrity.

Oh, and if you spend a night with them on a sun, wed, or thurs, into the next, you do actually get your deposit back. Like I said, they legally have to record their calls, therefore they don't do illegal things.

Wow, so you definitely work the company! hahaha. That is so entertaining to me. Here is the story, and its much like the others I have read on this page, went to a fishercats game, entered into a raffle for free tickets, and "won" the raffle.. haaha YEAH NO, everyone "wins". Went to Steel HIll resorts with my husband to get our tickets and a coupon book to the outlets and was sat down with this guy Jay who was just awful, he was crass and couldn't care less about talking to us.. Why you ask? BECAUSE HE HAS TO DO THAT LIKE FIFTY TIMES AND NO ONE BUYS [***] FROM HIM except those who are exceptionally dumb... Oh yeah steele hill is a nice resort and for your information they are apart of a much larger chain of travel and time share companies. We didn't bother to go through with the presentation because it was pointless, we had to stay only at their resorts and pay for the hotel stay which would equal to more than what we could get it for as regualr consumers UNLESS we got into their travel club members program or whatever. GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE and to verify her name was Brandi and that was the phone number, geez what a surprise... Funny thing is that guy Jay even told us that they reason they put those entry tables at those events is because they can get numbers to call that way because the do not call list prevents them from soliciting business by harassing people so by you filling out an entry form you are giving them permission to call and harass you. Yes the resort is nice, but they are a business like all others and they make a killing off of dumb people buying into their programs. I will likely never stay at that resort because they are apart of and therefore fully endorse this type of industry/falsified promotion. And yes we were told via VOICEMAIL that we were chosen as winners for four FREE round trip tickets. First thing we were told by Jay was that well, they're not really free... DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING THERE TO GET YOUR PRIZE becasue its not there it is a falsification. If you wish to go there to see the resort then thats fantastic it is quite lovely, but not for me.

Then it obviously wasn't Steele Hill Resorts that you got a phone call from, Ray. They are not allowed to say that and therefore do not.

Heather, Brandi never tells anyone they won anything. Ask her if you won something and she will tell you it's not a winning. None of the hotels in the package are associated with Steele Hill Resorts. They are all MAJOR CHAIN HOTELS. The types of hotels anyone has stayed at on a vacation. RCI is the "timeshare" program and any resort can use them as a company for timeshares but that doesn't make every resort that uses RCI associated with each other.

It's a promotional giveaway, don't want to spend 90 minutes for free airline tickets? Don't. It's not a scam, take it or leave it. No one has to please you, there are plenty of other people more than happy to take it. People who aren't poor and cheap that have no problem paying for their on hotel room on a vacation that they spent no money on airline tickets for. Can't do it? Don't.

Okay just finished the whole sales pitch from Steele Hill.  This is how the "free" airline tickets work.  Despite the fact that I spoke to Marissa on the phone for quite some time and was very explicit in asking her the details about the use of the airline tickets, I find that she was actually lying to me.   What I wanted was to use the 4 tickets for a 3 nights trip to Vegas in January.  I was careful to ask who could use the tickets, when they could be used, and how long we could go for.  She said that 3 nights in January was fine, as long as we stayed at the PH Towers (not cheap, but nice).  That all seemed fine.  So my husband took the 2 hour drive up.  Stayed in their not so nice accommodations for the night (cold water, old amenities) and listened to the 2+ hour sales pitch (not the 90 minutes they say it is).  We also spent $70 at dinner the night before in their resort restaurant.  You don't get the coupon for the restaurant until after you are ready to leave the resort.
Anyway at the end of the tour we got the information regarding the free airline tickets, etc.  Come to find out that the number of nights you must stay at a place is contingent upon where you are flying from.  For me to fly from my home state to Vegas, I would have to stay a minimum of 7 nights.  Not the 3 I was told I could stay.  As it turns out the "minimum 3-7 night stay" is almost exclusively a 6 or 7 night minimum for every destination.  And they decide that for you.  You don't get to decide the length of your stay.   Be warned, no matter how thorough I thought I was being, and how many questions I asked, I still got scammed.  Really, really disappointed in Steele Hill.  Awful of them.
