I received a message about my daughter having fraudulent activity associated with her social security number and her maiden name. She doesn't live here not even in this state. They had a case number as well. Not sure if its a scam or identity theft.

I also received 2 calls on different days telling me I have been served and will have to appear in court for fraudulent activity associated with my social security number and my name. The first call was a women and the second call was a man with a very deep voice. They do not leave a name only the call back number which when I called back I got a message that this extension is on the phone and the extension can not accept any more messages.

Its all [***]! Some Lady started threatening me with a judge and a case getting files against me. When I started to bite back at her she threatened me again then mysteriously the phone hung up. It is losers like this who get people concerned about their credit for real to give them more information about themselves so These scumbags can really do damage to you. Don't be fooled!

I received a call today and yesterday and they left me a message stating that they received a fax on their desk about me and a civil complaint that was filed against me and that I can settle out of court or they will serve me with papers either at my home or place of business. I can contact them back at the number they called me from and that I can give them a case number.

I got exactly  the same message you did, both yesterday and today.  I did not call them back.  I took to the internet to see if I could find out who they were.  I found this page.

I've recently been getting calls from this and the few times they leave a message they ask for a Ms. Strickland... No idea who that is. Anyway they stated they are responding to a fraudulent claim and that they will serve papers at "my hone" or their office. I think the person is perpetrating as a lawyer. They never stated what this exact fraud was in reference to.

Debt collectors trying to collect debts past the statute of limitations. Portfolio Recovery Associates. They violate the law with their practices. Do not admit to owing the debt. They record the calls hoping to have you admit to the debt so they can reset the debt. They have been threatening me with lawsuits for years. Haven't been sued yet. They mightn't try but will lose as I have proof.

I just got this call. The scary thing is that I run my own business. When they said I had to fraudulent charges on my account.. I thought they were referring to my card processing terminal. Tried calling back several times. No answer. NEVER GIVE ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFO WHEN SOMEONE IS CALLING YOU.

I have been getting calls everyday so I called and talked to Betsy Collins from Pre Trial Proceedings, I made her aware that the call was being recorded and she was fine with that.  She told me that she was going to record me also.  In reading the previous comments about the statue of limitation, I think she was really trying to get me to tell her that I really owe this amount.  She told me that there was a warrant out for my arrest for a credit card bill 7 years ago.  I explained that I had the credit card in my purse.  She told me that I didn’t (how would she know?) and I have not paid this bill.  I assured her that I could send her a copy of the bill.  She didn’t know why I would do that.  I explained that it shows I am paying it and it is current.  She said that was not true and I would have to talk to the attorney in her office to settle.  I asked if the police department had the information and she said they did.  Also I told her that I called the credit card company and they said that they didn’t take out a warrant for my arrest. They didn’t know what I was talking about. She said that they turned it over to her company so they don’t have it anymore.    I told her that I would call the police department and call her back.

I called the police department and spoke to some lovely ladies they looked up my name and date of birth and said that there was nothing on file and that not paying my credit card was a civil matter, the police would not be involved with that.  If it was fraud or impersonation then they would be coming to arrest me.  She heard the fear in my voice and said that it sounds like they are harassing you and you can take legal actions out on your behave for harassment.

I called Betsy back and told her what they said.  She said that she is NOT harassing me.  I told her that she was and she yelled “just wait for your warrant!” and hung up.

I looked up the company and there is nothing but more scam info:

I am so glad for a website like this!!!!  I will keep you posted if anything else happens.
