From GPMI (?) a non profit investigating environmental concerns...didn't hear the whole spiel

This company (GMI) called saying they were doing a survey (all automated, no humans - no real surveys are ever done this way, as the results would be unscientific) They claimed to be representing "bc4p" which is not listed anywhere, and is unreachable by the phone number they claim to be reachable at...
Do yourselves a favour... Don't deal with people who lie up front.
I'm going to spend the next hour or so tying up their phone line for calling, interrupting my movie, and not having any intention of any honest interaction.
Liars ... probably want personal info or some such...

Oh, sure, there's a terse message, but the machine hangs up immediately, and no one or thing can be "reached".

It turns out that BC4P IS a real entity... Some kind of creepy, American, Koch brothers funded group trying to drum up support for Northern Gateway by pretending it's interested in Canada's "environment"...

Well, I was pretty neutral about the pipeline 'til now, but now that I see how far Americans will go to keep oil wealth out of Canadian hands, i say, "No Northern Gateway!!"

was not a live person, was a recording. some company called "b c for p"   they can be reached at the number that this call bot came from. i called back and got the same recording of a survey.  it's spam. it's probably non-profit so is not on do not call list. one has to contact the non - profit, and be removed from list, however one cannot get a person, it is a recorded call bot.  also gave option of languages  for english press 1 then in cantonese or mandarin press 2. i hung up & called the number and it was the recording.

Phone rang twice. I answered. No one was there. I hung up.

Didnt answer, they didnt leave a message. Spam via phone.

By the way robo callers are illegal in Canada and since this guy is pushing tar sands this is telemarketing not a poll,complain to the CRTC about the creep if you are on the DNCR. Here is the info about them

This is a discussion forum where one can report or describe suspicious or unknown phone calls, but reporting them here does not stop the calling.  YOU have to take action to do that!  Consider buying a call blocker if nothing else works.

They keep calling and don't leave messages - good to know to just hang up if I do answer.

The tea party linked bc4p just tricked British Colombians into revealing the phone number and degree of opposition of every pipeline opponent in the province who was foolish enough to answer their questions.  They now know who you are, watch your backs!
