They were stupid enough to post their contact information, so feel free to call them and give the VP of Sales and Marketing a piece of your mind. Her name is Leslie Marshall and she can be reached, directly, at 604.484.4179.
When I called, she answered the phone, and admitted that they do make calls on behalf of the Dallas Morning News. I once held a subscription with the Dallas Morning News, but canceled it because all they print are lies and propaganda (and full-page ads for Bank of America, for example, on the back of the A Section).
The Dallas morning news has called me several times in an effort to get me to re-start my subscription. I declined (VERY assertively) and, apparently, that wasn't enough for them.
Anyway, the motherf*$#er's name is Leslie Marshall and her phone number (direct line) is 604.484.4179.
I wonder how it feels to have your real name associated with fraud and illegal activity, all over the Internet. Nice work, Leslie.
Props to "Ben" (a different Ben) over at the Creative Freedom blog for finding her phone number.
Leslie Marshall can also be reached directly through her email address, which is also posted on the RSVPCare site: leslie@rsvpcare.com .
Flood her inbox with 100 emails for every call her company has made and every minute of your airtime they have wasted. What her company is doing is illegal and they can only get away with it because they are in Canada.
That reminds me, she has a horrendous Canadian accent... beware.
Called repeatedly... twice today... I called the number back and got a busy signal and the recording "this number is busy" - ya! I bet it IS busy - busy irritating the h*ll out of everyone... sigh. And it's on my home number... which bugs me even more.
They called again today - I picked up. It was "Mark" from the Calgary Herald about some great contest blah blah blah... I said I wasn't interested, and could they please take me off their calling list. He said sure (with attitude) and I wished him a great evening... Not holding any hope... will let you know if I hear again...
I haven't gotten any calls in awhile but this might work: register with the Do not call registry. Then, when they call, tell them the number they are calling is on the do not call list. Did it today on another line, and they immediately hung up. They know, they can get in really hot water if you are on that list!! www.donotcall.gov.
They keep calling me all of the time & do not leave a message-not that I want to talk to them anyway. THEY CALLED MY CELL PHONE!!! I don't know how they got it. It was happening well before cell phone #'s were made public & it happened again a few minutes ago. I wish they would stop calling me.

I was contacted yesterday by this number, asking if I wanted to upgrade my 3 day subscription to the Edmonton Journal to a 7 day subscription for no extra charge. I was curious why they'd give me something for nothing but agreed. Then they asked for credit card details. At that point, I told them that if they work for the Journal, they should have those credit card details. The telemarketer made up some story. I asked them to take me off their list. I've since confirmed with the Journal that they are using a telemarketer to do this, but complained at the way it was handled.
Have been receiving at least two calls every day for weeks now. These guys never give up. Also, they keep ringing for as many as eight rings when my answering machine picks up, when they hang up. Damn sleazebags.
Getting them like once a month now. I KNEW it, something is fishy. Thanks, google!
Kinda sad, though, even though I own the phone, pay for the service, and only give out my number to my friends or employer, and yet I STILL cant pick up unknown numbers because of ads or scams.
got a call from this number on my cellphone....missed the call so not sure what they wanted....didn't leave a message...I also was under the impression that telemarketing cellphones was illegal...maybe I'm wrong.
