The message said it was Expedia and all I had to do was press '1' to receive $2000 in travel money. I hung up - why would Expedia be using a phone number with my area code? I know they're not based here. I've had a few scam calls and texts over the last few days and I'm in no doubt this is another one.

The message said it was Expedia and all I had to do was press '1' to receive $2000 in travel money.  I pressed 1 just to hear about it.  Actually  transferred me to an agent and I was asked to verify 2 things: Over 25 years old and had a credit card.  I said I didn't have a credit card and the agent said bye.

I too had a call from this number.  I have no clue why?  I am a member of expedia.ca and they may have my cell #.  Whatever the case, 'i smell a rat'.  Thanks to all of those that take the initiative to log such these types of calls/events.

I too just got that same call but I did not answer, I also have been getting calls from another number 1-886-360-1448 it too sounds like a scam.

Received multiple calls from this number claiming to be Westjet, and that I had won $2000 for travel.  Obviously a scam!

4:35PM, Pacific Time, just received phone call from this number. Didn't pick up.

"you have been selected by Westjet to win 2000 travel points, please press one to accept"

Hi - got a call from this number saying I have been chosen for $2000 from expedia.  I just hung up...was too good to be true.

Didn't answer - they left a message. I was only able to catch the last "... Press 1 now".

Just got a call, didn't answer, no message.

I just got a call from this number with the prefix 01-1-604-758-8000 - so even though it's a BC number doesn't that mean it's from somewhere international?
There was no one there when I picked up, but it seemed scammy.

I answered this because I was expecting a call from the 604 area code.  It got as far as "You have been selected by..." before I hung up.  No sense in wasting my cell phone minutes, and I suspect they are using VoIP so they don't face phone charges.

604-758-8000 called, expedia.ca "You won $2000 travel dollars."
It is a scam so hang it up.

I just got a call saying I was selected by Expedia I hung up, I know Expedia doesn't have my number. Must be a phishing scam

Got a call; almost managed to type the # into Google before they hung up.

This site is great.

I carry a cell to respond to emergency pages via a pager system for work.  No one has its number, it's used solely for emergency call outs (and is normally left off to conserve the battery).  It just received the first incoming call in over a year and it was from this number (604-758-8000).  I didn't answer it - clearly it is not legit!

Just a call from them as well.

Said in an automated message "from Rogers".

Im with rogers so i stayed on, then still saying in automated voice "you have been selected to win..."

At that point I hung up the phone.

Rogers and expedia should look into this number as these callers are passing themselves off as these major companies.

This is one time where I would like the big organizations to come down hard on these scammers.
