- Laura Kaemper| 4 repliesI got a call from this number saying that there was a legal case against me for collection of a payday loan. The same person called me from 3 different phone numbers, and I ended up telling him in the end that there was no legal case against me and he better stop calling me.

- Dino replies to Laura Kaemper| 1 replyThis guy from India with a think accent calls telling me that he is calling on behalf of Microsoft Office and says there are some Trojans and Virusus on my computer and I need to switch my computer on. He will fix it "right before my eyes". What a load of crap! I keep telling him it is a scam and that he should not call me again but to no avail. Give'em hell!
He also calls from:
607-529-9906
630-653-9660
630-582-0473 - MS| 1 replyGuy calls claiming he works for a credit card verification office and asks me to tell him the expiry date of my credit card. When I asked him how I could verify who he was and that I'd rather call the credit card office myself, he kept telling me his name, title and badge number, insisting that the credit card expiry date is not secret information. I asked him to give me the number of the credit card number in question, which he couldn't do, so I hung up on him. When I reviewed the number he was calling from, it was this number and not a 1-800 as he was claiming.
- Caller: Supposedly visa verification
- anonymous replies to rehan qureshiNo thanks, country code +91 is India.
- anonymous replies to DinoTHIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.

Guess once they know they can't scam you, they try to vent some aggression lol - ZluluI just got a call from this number. Very thick Indian accent. He told me he is from the Windows technical department and that my PC is downloading all kinds of viruses at this very minute. He went on and on about how urgent this was and how he could help me fix it. Really? And Windows knows my home number how? And if they did know me and who my computer was registered to, wouldn't he have called me by name?
- Caller: "Windows Technical Department"
- from NBSame guy. Thick accent. Tried to tell me other's were accessing my computer right at that moment. I hung up and he called back twice. Jerk.
- creeped outI got a call from 607-231-8335, this is the second time I have received a call from someone telling me they were from Microsoft technical department, I don't know if it is from the same number, but this one got creepy fast. The guy started by telling me they were receiving error messages and he was calling to help me fix it. I told him I was all set and didn't need his help, he started saying things like "don't lie to me you are not outside" "do you wear panties" "do you need any bras or condoms". I got angry and told him to lose my number if I needed assistance I would have called Microsoft not some pervert who can barely speak English.
- Caller: Microsoft
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ConcernedThey want to sell me prescription drugs for cheap. I told the man who had a thick Indian accent that if I needed prescription drugs I go to my doctor and never would buy them from him no matter how cheap he could sell them. People like that are a danger and should be put in jail.
- Caller: Drug company
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Me replies to MSGood for you....visa or any thing like that shouldn't be calling you at your number. I had that done to me...I went down the same day at a bank and asked if anyone phoned me. They looked it up and they said no one called. So it was a scam.
- SadI got a call from this number think accent - sounded like he was from India calling about my lost dog - left a voicemail. I don't have a lost dog but I do have a lost cat.... he told me to call a number back at 281-367-0484 which when I looked it up online is a number located in Texas. I know my cat isn't in Texas.
how do they get your number?! - Teresa LitshauerJust got a call from the same number 607- 231-8335, I didn't recognize the number so I checked it on the Internet and found many negative comments about that number, which kind of scared me. Who owns the number and what is Microsoft involment? Thank you for your help. TL.
BTW I did not answer the call.- Caller: Don't know, I not answer the call
- MarkFemale with Indian accent, knew my name, would I confirm it? NoI I asked what she wanted. Gave me a ridiculous story, somebody trying to take money from my bank account, had I authorised that? - duh! I asked her to tell me the last 4 digits of my account number - she refused for "security reasons" so I told her I'd check with my bank and hung up. Been getting 5 or 6 similar calls a week, often silent when I pick up. Can somebody pop down to Binghamton NY (USA area code 607 231) and tell these strange idiotic asinine moronic loser waster clown nuisance failed robbers to go find real jobs.
- Caller: Unidentified
- ShelbyBy the amount of complaints and different types of calls-they are obviously a SCAMSCAMSCAM. I really hope nobody buys into this.. they called my mom with a NY area code saying to call back a WA area code, then if she gave them money they would have 60+ people looking for our missing dog along with posting flyers.. This has got to be the most ridiculous, asinine scam I have ever even heard of. They gave another number or 202-629-9017 and used www.thepetrescue.com as there website.. which looked like it was put together with barely any brains. Indians always have the dumbest scams. Makes me sick they would prey on people whom lost their dog.
