He said "I'm calling from Windows tech support, ok?" I said no and hung up. I'm guessing it's a scam.

Yes, it is a scam.
He just wanted my credit card#.

i got a call, I did not pick up. charge to my bill $1.75. this is fraud. Check your bill guys! My phone is Virgin Mobile. I talked to customer service, they investigate now.

Just got a call from this number identified as "Dir Assist NY" on our landline.  Did not answer.  No message left.  

Incomplete message left at 4:30 pm threatening to issue arrest warrant if I didn't call back by end of business day

Got a call, from this number, today, 11/11/14 at 12:51PM, est.  Ignored it, as I do all calls that are obviously not friends or family members.  No message was left. I really don't think you can be charged for a call you don't answer, as has been reported here.  If Verizon did such a thing, I would be dropping them like a bad habit.  If this truly did happen, I would never do business with Virgin Mobile.  My caller ID displayed, simply, New York.

Today I received a call from the above nbr. 607 555-0146 I did not pickup the call because I was suspicious of the 555 in the number I suspected it to be from this person claiming he was from Microsoft I have received several calls from these people using 555 in their number. I have reported it several times, these people are from or of Indian descent some of them can barely speak English on one occasion I told them they could not speak English and they proclaimed to be calling from Microsoft; well, the next time they called it was still and Indian accent but his English was much better that the others that I spoke to. Please beware because they are trying to gain remote access to your computer and wreak havoc on your life. My quest is why or how can they be stopped   P.S. the caller ID for this card read New York

I suggest we all start answering these calls. I am working on a dialog that I plan to use when they call. Additionally, if you speak a foreign language (I do), use that accent.  And, since the calls appear o be from a boiler room system of scam calls, perhaps we might co-ordinate all our calls at about the same time, or perhaps one after the other, keeping ll our calls to a specific time length. Being a "child" of the 60's reverse pranking them seems like just the Yippie thing to do. And as long as we call on the toll free lines--we can tie them up.
For those of you getting calls on a non toll free, have your "operator" reverse the charges or all collect.

This time is was a tax fraud claim - call back or i would be arrested!

Got a call from this number voice mail message  threatning to arrest me gave a badge number call them back..
Also said would take me to court before a judge and get judgement against me.

Received a call from 607-555-0146 to conact a 202  number or an irs warrant will be issued for my arrest.  This is a scam do not call them back and do not send them any money.  The irs does not phone you unless you requested a call back from them.   Again this is a scam do not call them or send them any money!!!!!!
