I get unwanted calls from the number +16077229665

Its a scam I reported it to the police!

Had a call from this number last night (July 22). No idea who it was.

Got a call from this number today, no voice on other end, then a recorded voice saying GOODBYE. Second call I have had with this response ,the first from another number, an 800 number!

I just got a call from this number. He insisted I turn on my computer. He was going to guide me through an identification of any corrupted Windows files. I asked where he got my number and he said they were notifying all Windows users about this issue. That didn't answer my question !No way could he have been able to tie computer use to my phone number ! I figured it was a scam and said I wasn't interested. He was pissed off and said good-bye.

I got a call from this number trying to tell me that my computer had received a virus and their technical server had sent an error to Windows.  The line was very fuzzy and whenever I said I didn't understand or asked a question he just repeated his information.  I thought he was going to ask me for money to get rid of the virus and when I asked him if that was the case he tried to sound hurt and angry, cause he was only trying to help.  I didn't wait to see what it really was he wanted from me, presumably a password.

I live in Canada but would be interested in finding the outcome of this, how do I follow it?

I just got a call from this number.... The same story. He said that I had received a lot of spam in my computer and that he would able to help me to solve thih "problem".
I said that I didn't have time for that and goodbye.
After that I've called to my telefon company to ask if that would be a pay call or not. They said that if I didn't press 1 or 2 to accept anything, than it wouldn't be a problem and I won't have to pay anything too.
So, I hope I could help here and remember.. DON'T PRESS ANYTHING !!!!
Where from they have my number and my name ???? Probably Facebook or something.

Caller asked to talk to my wife by name it was a female at first the caller asked my wife about the computer we use and my wife said she knew nothing about the computer so she said my husband looks after the computer and you will have to talk to my husband so when my wife passed my the phone it was a male talking and asked if I was so and so living at my address he gave me which was odd in it self and started to tell me that the reason he was calling was to inform me the reason my computer was slow booting up and why it was taking longer to get to my email box and facebook was because his company was doing work on their end  so I stopped this guy from talking and I said to this guy on the phone that I don't have the Internet at home so how is this possible and the phone went dead WTF was this all about and hung up on the guy.

Overseas caller. Scammer that says he is calling from Microsoft. I listen to his script and when he mentioned Windows, I interrupted him and explained that I used a Mac and have no MS products on my computer. He muttered something and hung up.
My call block is on for this number.

I got this called but I don't know who they are. I didn't bother to call them back. It's annoying to have them calling almost everyday in the month of nov.

I do not answer this call - live in Canada - It is the easter weekend and this number has called 14 times in the last 4 hours - one knows it is a scam as no voice mail is left which if 14 calls were that important a name and number would be left . Complete scam and annoying too.

no one ever says anything on the other end of the line.  i even called the number right back and it said the number wasn't in service, yet it had just called me 1 minute before!!  its a scam!  and a really annoying one at that!!

Same caller just called.  Saying my computer was emitting spam and was full of viruses. When I kept asking for better clarification they said they were ms technical support.  Eventually I was passed to a supervisor who got agitated w me and said fine if you want to wait until your computer shuts down that's up to you.  The. He hung up on me.   I just looked online and low and behold many people have had the same experience.  I work in tech and I can assure you this is not ms tech support!   Beware.

Read about the your-PC-is-infected-corrupted scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.

I live in India and received missed call from this number. The caller didn't responded after I pick-up the call so I hung up. All that lasted for 5 sec.

I just got a call from this number tonight. Good thing I didn't answer the phone - I would have had a few choice words for them.

Same.  Talked to the guy who had an Indian accent.  Was telling me that I had a virus from Malaysia in my computer and wanted to get access to it to show me where it was.  Was the second time he called.  Very bad connection over my cell.  In both cases, line was cut before I could finish to talk to him.  In any case, my conversation was finished and just about to turn off.

I got a call from the same number (607-722-9665). I answered the phone , after I  said hello, they hung up.

Same thing, I'm from Quebec and I just had this call, Stupid guy told me to turn my computer on for a check and virus etc... I said You know what's the problem?! He said Yes! I answered the prob is you, STFU! :)
