I just got a call from that number, and the message left said it was from the Madison VA

Caller ID says "US Government". Looked up the number online and it says that it's a VA Hospital.

Yea, it's a VA hospital in Madison, WI.  Very mysterious, can't imagine why they would call me.

I eceived calls from this number plus 608-249-0399 and 608-256-1662. When I answered they said they had a gift certificate that wasn't use and I said I wasn't interested and they hung up on me. I called the number back and it says by recording that the number is disconnected. The calls were from Madison WI.

It's the Madison VA scheduling desk; I think they are just misdialing.

It's the Madison VAMC. I only answered it because we have an HIM coding contract with Madison VA. Turns out it was someone that sounded like they were trying to sell me supplemental life insurance.

It looks like the VA (the US government) sold your (and my) personal data to a spam company. Write an email to your Senator and Representative as well as the FCC, then hope for the best.
