I just received a call from this number (01/24/14), left a message (recorded message non the less) stating: "that it is an important phone call from the state of WI concerning a letter that was sent to me from the state of WI and that it is important for me to save their number into my contacts as they will call back concerning the state of WI." The message sounds like a scam as it kept repeating itself and truly, if it was the state of WI I'm pretty sure they would request I call them back! I have not received ANY such letter, already have healthcare through employer, and that phone # has nothing to do with the State of WI. Scott Walker and JB Van Hollen are LETTING people get ripped off as a ploy by the Heritage Foundation, Americans for Prosperity, etc., to try and make the affordable care act look bad. Scumbag GOP in Madison, with nothing better to do than rip off the good people of WI.

I personally got the call too.

I got confirmation today from Lori Linde of the Wisconsin Dept of Administration that the number does indeed belong to the  Badger Plus care Program.  I is a legitimate call and number.  

If it was legitimate then why when you search for the number does it not come up anywhere.  I also just got the call about 10 minutes ago and will be calling the AG tomorrow to see if it legitimate or not.  Why would they call people that work and have insurance makes no sense to me at all.

I'm contacting the local investigative reporters here in Milwaukee to see if they can get to the bottom of it. I got called at 7:45 pm too. No message though. I call Bull [***] too.

I received a call from this number at 7:45 p.m.. Normally they don't bother to call people this late unless it's a bill collector or a scammer. They left me no message at all. I was kicked off Badgercare though because I "gross too much money". I don't have enough to have a pot to piss in, but I "gross too much money". Go figure.

THIS IS A SCAM!! I called local county social services about this. They gave me a Madison number and I was told that the state does NOT solicit applicants for Badger Care for any reason.

if Obama wants to address healthcare, he needs to start with dental insurance companies. In the last 17 years, the amount they allow for the year has not changed even though the price of everything in dental has risen.

They called my cell phone leaving a message about being from the state of WI concerning a letter etc etc. I never give anyone my cell phone number and I never got any letter.

I called this number.  I got a  recorded answer but the guy sounded like he was using some kind of voice suppressor or distorter that scammers from overseas sometimes use. Something odd about this.

This is legitimate, however, i have no idea why these calls are SO late. Badgercare eligibility changed Jan 1st 2014. I don't remember receiving a letter, I might have if it was sent back in November.

got call a 2:26 today.  said they were from state of wi.  told them to leave # for call back.  he stated the state of wi does not accept calls back!!!   bunch of baloney....

I believe this is the 3rd+ call I've received from them today with same spiel @ 1:30 p.m. CST.  They verify you through the month of your birthday.  They don't mention, maybe they did, but I could tell the call seemed to be recorded due to echoing.  The woman asked if we got the letter stating that we are losing our badgercare coverage and if we got insurance through the exchange or an employer.  I do remember during one of the calls, they wanted to let me know that I could purchase badgercare through the exchange, but I did not see that option at time of enrollment online through the healthcare exchange.  I believe that they are trying to help and make sure you have coverage, but at the same time, I have a sneaky suspicion that this is to get paid enrollment numbers that are reported to make the healthcare exchange and the UNAFFORDABLE care act look successful to the media and sleeping public.  Why else would they call after open enrollment has been closed for a month and a half now?

We purchased a top plan through the exchange and I am finding out right away, I'm a chronic pain patient, that the insurance company (Unity) does not seem to want to approve procedures that I had done under badgercare nor do they want to approve referrals by leaving us in the dark and taking their sweet time.

I also hear from reliable sources to be prepared for more insurance rate increases coming 1st of year!

This may be a legitimate number but not the call. After 7pm. We did NOT apply for Badgercare. It was MY cell number, not our home phone. Thiefs can hijack a number to avoid prosecution and that's what's happening here.
