Got another call from the 609 Atlantic City number on my cell - answered. Guy with heavy accent said he was calling regarding assisting me with my computer. Said name of his company was Sourcewide Tech Solutions LLC -and gave me the web address www.sourcewidellc.com -- Figured I'd have some fun, since I had some time, and see what all he'd tell me about his operation.
I asked where they were located and he said Arvada Colorado. Asked why a 609 area code was showing up and he didn't respond. Said that they would fix my computer, clear of viruses, etc and I could give him access and could watch what he was doing. Asked what it would cost, and he said 'it depends on what we find'. Asked what was the normal charge or usual one -- he thought for aminute and said $99, but today, maybe he could give a discount. Asked how he got my name and cell phone number and he said "from our records".... Asked, what records..... and he stumbled and said 'our company records' and we just had your number to contact..... Sheeeezzzz.
Asked how you paid, and he said they took credit cards (oh, I'll bet they do ! ), and they are also listed on the website. Told him I was busy at the moment and couldn't do it right now, and I asked his name ---"Michael" -- (yeah, right, and my name when I call East Asia is Shehzad ).....so, I'm not sure if this company is legit, or if they just run an off shore website to look legit and then burn people when they give them their credit card, but they won't be getting credit card info from me.... so B E W A R E -- their toll free number that he gave me to call back is 800-291-7856 and the number he called me from was 609-225-5799  I suspect that it is one of the many off shore SCAMS that are out there.

I got a call from this # a few minutes ago, also wanting to 'fix' my computer!  I asked "Do you get many people who are stupid enough to fall for this crap?"  to which I must have offended him, because he got defensive and told me it's NOT crap, they are doing me a FAVOR because my computer is infected with a serious virus and needs to be taken care of.  I asked how he knows my computer has a virus & he said....."We just got a message sent from  your computer!"  Seriously?  I mean, does ANYONE fall for that?  (obviously, I guess some do or these idiots wouldnt still be in business.)  So apparently my computer has sent some kind of 'distress' signal, and this guy is my knight in shining armor!  Lucky me.  Still wanting to pull his string, I said 'This is the thing...I don't have a computer.  They are the window for evil to enter through, and I'm not going to allow one in my house.'  LMAO  I guess his script didnt have a response for this, as he stammered about for a minute and then hung up!

I have been receiving a flurry of the "you have a virus" scam calls from this number. My profession is investigative in nature and I familiar with this scam. Always a bad phone connection, always an Indian caller.  While they are so polite..I am very polite and then tell them that I am going to burn down their home with their family inside - or similar horrible things.  I do this because these are criminals who rob elder people and leave them in dire situations. Its also fun to shock them.  The Virus calls have stopped and been replaced by "I am from ATT or (ADT) and we have your records".... These are generally Indian women.  The connection is terrible, there is noise in the background and it is an obvious scam.  They get the same treatment. I make the most horrifying promises of throat cutting, face shooting etc... Again, I do this because these people are robbing the vulnerable and causing suffering. The men generally "Break Character" but the women don't.  The horrifying thing about these calls, is that my wife.... a smart and highly educated woman...nearly fell for them. It makes me realize just how effective these scams are and how many people likely fall victim.

I've received calls from these idiots before soooooo...
when the phone rang I started earpiercingscreech.mp3 on my pc, cranked up the speakers, held the phone to the speaker and pressed the answer button. They hung up in 4 seconds.
If I am bored I just say "Yes" to everything they say... no matter what the question is. I can usually waste 4-5 minutes of their time with that technique. Makes em mad when they figure it out. ;)

These scammers called 03/01 at 9:00 PM.  Immediately disconnected the call because (1) I had just dropped off to sleep and (2) no one calls me at that time of night.  If it had been an emergency, I would have gotten a call-back - a legitimate call-back.

Pleasant sounding east asian lady called. Asked to speak to [name deleted]. [Mia-pronounced last name, but it is not traditional anglo-saxon). Asked where they thought they had called. politely told them it was a hospital! threw them right off their pitch..... Anyway, she appologized for calling by saying sorry. No Sorry is how the SCAM ARTISTS will feel once they are in Gael.

PS. The Caller Name display showed V30210513300001. This is right away a tip that it is a VOIP phone call, and that the service is being provided by a MagicJack type phone. So unless, you know who sold a phone and asked for this number, it also is a LIE. and potentially the MagicJack people are loosing money because their system is being scammed for the minutes of service.

Got a call from this number 03/03/16 @ 10:30AM. An Indian woman with a strong accent asked to speak to the owner. As we are a business and this is a very busy time for us, I immediately hung up the phone when she could not pronounce the owners name and I could here a lot of background noise. She Immediately called back and was extremely angry screaming at me as to why I hung up on her. She again asked to talk to the owner, when I asked the name of the company she was calling from she replied "None of your business!" So of course I hung up again. She called back twice more and hung up. The call comes in as Atlantic City, NJ but no other business info.
