This number called twice so far today and twice a day.  It started about two weeks ago.  No one ever answers or says anything.

Since their first call on May 14 whomever this is has called more than10 times with four calls so far today. I wrongly interpreted my caller ID as indicating that this was Chicago's Museum of Science & Industry where my membership lapsed over a year ago. However, the area code is wrong for Illinois. Even were this a legitimate New Jersey science institution, which I serioiusly doubt, it would not have my home phone number.

Based on the number of call attempts, it's far more likely a scammer pfishing for personal information (i.e. a credit card number). Even the worst not-profits and charitable organizations (the National Rifle Association's telemarketer and political fundraisers are my current most frequent) is not as bad over a 10 day period as these people. DO NOT ANSWER.

It's a New Jersey number - land line. It started calling me about a week ago and has called 5-10x day ever since. Never leaves a message.

Your post is interesting because I, too, had an MSI membership until about 2 years ago. This number calls me 5-10x/day, for the past couple weeks. Never leaves a message and I won't answer. I wonder if there's a "Chicago" connection ot this or a MSI connection (i.e., someone there who gave out member info). ????

I have never answered this call but they never leave a message on the answering machine.
They call about three times a day

Just called and said museum of science. Knew our name.  Said was a courtesy call
Caller id said it was museum of science  as MSI members i answered to see what it was they wanted.  No answer

I just received a call from this number on 6/10/15. I suspect it is the same thing. I had the exact same thing happen when my Art Institute of Chicago membership lapsed, and I called the AIC to complain. Those calls then stopped.

Same issue. Former MSI member. No one there. This is June 2015.

Well, Amanda, your telemarketer is at it again.  Just received a call from same number and caller ID identified them as Museum of Science.  I put them on speaker phone and it took an agent 30 seconds to come on line and then hung-up.  While my MSI membership has lapsed, why would MSI, located in Chicago, call from New Jersey? Sounds like phishing to me!

Also a former member. Got a call at 11:25 today. No message. We don't answer if we don't recognize caller ID and in this case, we saw the area code was not from this area.

Thanks to all that post here so we can check on robocallers.

Looks like the common denominator here is former MSI memberships. We generally rotate museums and zoos annually and our MSI membership ended over a year ago. Must be a win-back campaign. No message left.

I  have gotten calls from them every  few days since June 18. I always let it go to voicemail  and no one ever leaves a message. I also have a lapsed MSI  membership.

Caller ID says "Museum of Science," and it is a NJ phone number. Like many other posters here we were Museum of Science and industry members, which is in Chicago. But that was several years ago!

Don't know if you monitor this site, but the scanner using your former members' information is back.  I think I speak for everyone when I say please see what you can do to stamp it out again. Thanks.
