Caller ID reads :: TAX REL ::  Bunch of solicitors out of New Jersey trying to con you into some kind of income tax rebate. They want you to send $29.95 [via your credit card] for their "bonus kit." Can't these sludgers in Jersey do better than this!

Loan soliciters

Called everyday for a week... When I finally answered they claimed that they were a "Loan Consolidation Company" (and said the name so fast I never caught it) working with the "US Department of Education" and wanted to help me out with my loans (to consolidate of forgive them) and that because I refused to give them my social security number then they weren't going to be able to "disclose any information for the safety of the person". FOR REAL?!

Yea ive been getting the same calls..finally I answered it a few minutes ago and told them that they were not allowed to call after a certain time. She says im sorry I will make sure no one calls you again. .didn't give her time to ask for anything. .

They called at least 4 times today but I did not answer.  I'm so sick of these people!!!!!!!

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

This number will not stop calling me! I have received calls every hour.  This is harassment!

For Andriod phones, you can put them on the Add to Auto Reject List.  

These morons continue calling despite being on my block list. Phone never rings nor does the # come up on my phone as a missed call but does show up in the call logs. Some idiots can't get the message.

  This number, (609) 318-9798, has called multiple times everyday for a couple of weeks. I didn't answer any of their calls, until today. A woman answered & asked how I was doing without identifying herself. I replied, "It depends on what you have to say!" I took her by surprise as she stuttered that she was with a Student Loan Consolidation Company. She stated that I had loans over $5,000. I told her that she was mistaken. She questioned, "No?" I told her that I didn't, even though that's none of her business! She then thanked me, but before she hung up I said, "This means you will take me off your call list & never call me again!" She said she would do so. I guess we shall see. Nonetheless, this number is already added to my Free "Mr. Number" call blocker.
  I don't usually answer any unknown number before doing research first. That's why these forums are so important for us: to get the word out to each other! If we refuse to take these calls, maybe these MISCREANTS will be forced out of jobs! Wouldn't that be nice?!
  I was receiving no less than 10 calls a day from various DESPICABLE DEGENERATES. This is simply because I filled out a request for information online using my real name & cell number. Fortunately, I didn't give any other personal information! But, this is enough for these ASSHATS to take that information & sell it to others who do the same. It becomes a vicious cycle & your phone is then ringing off the hook. There is nothing I can do even though I'm on the DO-NOT-CALL-LIST because I willfully gave my information. Some of these SLEAZEBALLS are not in the States, so the DO-NOT-CALL-LIST will not save you from them!
  Please, be careful to whom you give your information! If you're already in a situation similar to mine, there are FREE apps for your cell phone (some only work on Androids) that will block nuisance calls:
1) "Mr. Number"
2) "Call Control"
3)" Call Blocker"
4) "TruCaller"
5) "Call Blacklist"
6) "360"
  Does anyone use some of these call blockers? How are they working for you? Anyone have suggestions for blocking annoying calls? I have been using "Mr. Number" & I like it so far. I have the option to block any calls or texts I want. They can go straight to voice mail or, my favorite, to simply pick up & hang up. I can even block whole area codes! However, are a few ("spoofed") numbers get through somehow. "Mr. Number" needs to work on that.
  DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THESE SNEAKY SNAKES! If you happen to answer, try to collect information from THEM without giving out any of your info. However, it's best to NOT even answer or return these calls. Unless you want to have a little fun with them! :0)

They have left messages. After returning their call their automated system gave options for selecting to be placed on a DO NOT CALL LIST. That was helpful.

Another scammer wanting a credit card number for a bogus product. They also claim to help you with loans. These people are scum.

I just pick up call and instantly shut off call.  I then disconnect my cellphone

We need the FTC or some government agency to stop spoof numbers and to have unlimited blocking by call suppliers
