- NateI received a phone call today from a woman by the name of Jasmine Walker from Alert Soft in Burlington, New Jersey (609) 531-0750. She claimed that Microsoft was receiving red flags from our computer which indicated severe compromise in our operating system. She wanted me to get on my computer, then she and the techs would instruct me on what to do to correct my computer problems.
I took her information and told her I’d have to call her back.
Contacted my phone company & my internet provider.
Googled and found this link among others.- Caller: Alert Soft

- Kathryn BrooksI have been calling Alert Soft @1-609-531-0750 on behalf of a friend of mine who was badgered into pay $175 for this company's phony service. They called her saying the same thing all the other postings are saying, that their were getting a satellite transmission that her computer was full of errors and would "crash" and become unusable if she didn't purchase their service. The bad news is, she used her debit card and purchased the service, but fortunately has been too busy each time they call her and try to get her to log on to her computer. I have been talking to "Chester Hudson" since Oct 18 trying to get my friend's money back. First they said they couldn't refund the money because their "system was down." Chester said she should file a "charge back" claim with her back, which she did, but has not gotten a refund. Then on 11/30/11 "Chester" said he would refund the money afterall and my friend would have her money in 48-72 hours. I just spoke with "Chester" again since my friend hasn't gotten the refund. Now he is saying he can't refund the money because since she filed the "charge back" the matter is out of his company's hands!! Bogus.......DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT talk to anyone from this company if they call you, you do NOT need their "service"

- Jim| 1 replyThe company Alert Soft called me. The guy I talked with asked for my wife by her first name and said his name was Sam Jorden. He was very convincing and said he was a rep from Hewlett Packard. He was alerted that my computer had been broken into and to stop using it right away. My information was being stolen and a scan was necessary to clean the files that had been broken into. This guy was very convincing as I mentioned. I allowed him access to my system and he was running a scan of the hard drive. He was showing me all the files that had errors and several that showed warnings. What he was actually doing was erasing all my data. After I realized what what was going on, I unplugged all my cords going into my computer. He said if I wanted my data back I needed to purchase the software package from them. I hung up the phone. Lucky for me only a few files had been erased. ( Pictures, Music) I had them backed up. I took my computer into Staples and they ran a scan on it. Removed the codes Alert Soft had put in allowing them future access to my system and I called the Better Business Bureau in New Jersey to report this company. This is a on-line company only with no business address. The BBB couldn't help but gave me another phone number to report this problem through. Just be aware of this scam and don't give anyone any information over the phone. The only way to be sure is to contact someone yourself. If someone contacts you it is probably a scam. The telephone number they gave me to call them back on was 609-531-0750

- Terry DayWe have been called several times by this number. At first we said we were not interrested mainly because we could not understand what the people were saying. On one call my wife asked for a number to call back because she wanted to talk to them when I was home. We were told to ask for a Shawn who identified himself as a Windows 7 tech. We couldn't understand him so they gave a person named James the phone who we still had problems understanding but we went along with him for a while until he wanted us to run a file from www.seemypc.com. This is where we stopped and told him we would take our computer to the place of purchase because we just bought it. they said the company was a scam.
- Caller: Could not understand
- JesseThe bellow reports are happening again. A gentleman called and claimed to be from microsoft and wanted access to the computer. I am IT professional and this is obviously a scam. Don't worry too much about computer security unless you fell for the trap. If you did fall for it, unplug your computer from the internet AND DO NOT PLUG IT BACK IN until you get your family IT consultant to give it the green light.
Silly scammers. - michelle replies to Jimthats my story too, What a fool I was to believe someone who sounded, and showed me, more than what I understood. Its a shame we have to learn the hard way!
- GaryI just revceived a call from Microsoft windows services saying that my computer was infected and they would help me resolve the issue. They wanted me to sign onto my computer and they would guide me thru the steps to fix the problems. They too gave me 609 531-0750 as a call back number but I laughed and hung up on them. I spoke to a ( lady ) named Michelle. She had an indian or pakistan type accent and was a little hard to understand.
