King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Phone # traces back to Academy Agency who is a collection agency.

THey will not stop calling!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The cc company not only charged off the account it was also WRITTEN off. They just keep calling and harrassing me!How do I stop this!! And dont say pay the bill....it was a corporate accoiunt that I did not sign for or personally guarantee!

On caller id-unknown no.,610-230-0409. No message. If this is Academy Agency then it is a collection agency that goes after debts that are well past recovery dates. Sometimes many years past. They don't care if you owe the debt or not and they don't listen if you tell them that you don't. This phone no is just one of the numbers that they use. Using different phone numbers, they can call you many more times a day and try to trick you into answering your phone.  I don't answer caller unknown ids anymore.

Got this call everyday, and I thought it is ad. and This morning we picked it up, it says it called from Banana Republic, and it said I opened account recently and I have a balance of 3000, they asked whether my last four digits of SSN is xxxx, and we said no and we hang up. I guess they are trying to get money from people. Be careful, and any suggestions what we should do? I called back, it is busy. I never opened any account with Banana.

So far one hang up call from them about 4:30 p.m yesterday, but they also call from (866) 932-6731, (866) 932-6709, and (800) 303-6606.  You'll find posts on those numbers too.

I agree that it could be a scam posing as a collection agency to scare people into giving out financial info.  Another poster is right to ignore Unknown Callers or Unknown Names.  As annoying as it is, I think it's best to never answer.  What can they do?  Keep calling, but it won't get them anywhere.

I do not have any debts either, and they are even asking for some other person.  They usually call from their 866 number and leave a recorded message that unless I disconnect, I "acknowledge" I am that person by continuing to listen to the message!!!!  Insane!

A correction to my previous post from 11/24/09.  The 866 numbers belong to Accounts Receivables Management, but I got the two mixed up since BOTH companies have been calling me for almost 2 months now.  They both leave the same recorded message saying I must hang up right away or I "am" the person they are seeking if I continue to listen to the message.

They are asking for another name, just like another company called Leading Edge Recovery Solutions did when they "only" called for about 2 and a half weeks.

I don't know know why three companies would be calling for the same person.

I am receiving calls from this phone number, which is a recorded message saying if I don't hang up, then I am verifying to be the person they are looking for.  They are looking for someone who is NOT ME.  This is getting to be very frustrating.  I think I'll report them to the Attorney General's Office.

Call from this number as well, but they had another number yesterday.  It was a charged off account and whatever money they can collect, they will keep.  These types of companies buy the accounts and if they get paid, they will in turn keep the money.  Recommendation, do not pick up any phone calls from unknown #s.
