These people have called me several times from several different numbers claiming to be Cardmember Services telling me this is my final chance to get lower rates on my credit card.  They have no idea who I am and won't tell me the name of the company they represent - they just hang up when I begin questioning them.  It's a scam to

I too am getting repeated calls from this number.  Thank goodness for caller ID so I never answer it.

They called me twice on my cell phone this afternoon. Luckily my phone was on silent as I was in a meeting. Good thing I checked here before returning the call. The CID says it's from MN, USA.

I've been getting an awful lot of these spam/phishing telemarketing calls from various phone numbers to both my home phone AND my cell phone. They are people claiming to be from CardMember Services, also saying this is my final opportunity to lower the interest rate on my credit card.

Once I answered the call because it came in while I was on the phone and I got no CID. Thinking it might be my daughter, I answered it.

The man identified himself then said he was from CardMember Services.
I asked, "What card member service?"
He replied, "CardMember Services."
I asked, "For which card?"
He said, "For your credit card."
I asked, "Which credit card are you referring to? Visa, MC, Discover, AmEx, Diners? Which one are you calling about?"
He said, "Any or all of them."
I asked, "How did you get my phone number?"
He said, "From CardMember Services."
I said, "Uh huh. Why are you calling me?"
He said, "I'm calling to find out if you want to lower your interest rate on your credit card."
I said, " And what makes you think I have any credit cards?"
He hung up.

I was about to tell him I'm on the No Call Lists and it's illegal to call anyone on them if you are a telemarketer. Then I was going to tell him to stop calling me, but I never had the chance.

This is such BS. CardMember Services can't lower your credit card rates any lower than you can yourself, just by calling your credit card company and asking them to. CardMember Services just wants to charge you a fee to do the very same thing you can do on your own and they can't even guarantee they can lower your interest rate, although they claim they can lower it to 6%. It's been proven, over and over, that most of the time, they can't do anything for you.

It's a total rip-off!

same exact problems as everyone described:  they call all the time and leave a msg about lowering my interest rate.  If you talk to a real live person and ask what company they represent, they will hang up on you.

Got recorded message about lower CC interest, no option to unsubscribe so I pressed 1 to speak with a live person. Once on I ask to please be removed from the call list and he just hung up. I called back several times but only got busy signals. Went to FTC do not call website and filed a complaint and suggest everyone that is on the list to do the same. We'll never get rid of the scum but at least make it more difficult for them. I think I may play along next time and string them out as long as possible then say nah not interested.

This number has called me several times. They will never give me any information, when I ask for a supervisor they hang up. I have asked them several times to be removed from their call list... ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This number just called me and it the was the same as everyone else, they hung up as soon as I asked who they were! so annoying.

They called with the message about lowering credit card interest rates. They said you had to owe more than $3000 to qualify to lower rates. I pressed one to talk to someone and said please take my number off your list and they hung up on me.

Why do these people get a pass from the government to call anybody they want and not identify themselves?  They have the gall to call me (illegally) and ask for my credit card information???  Do people really fall for that?

They always call from different numbers, often cell phone numbers, so even reporting the number at donotcall.gov is irrelevant.  They'll just use a different number next time.

My theory is that this is a Chinese outfit trying to suck Americans drier than they already have with their cheap products and US bond purchases.

I get 3-4 calls from this number every day.  When you tell them to take you off their call list, they hang up.  I have no credit cards

Just got a call from them and they left no message. I think next time they call I will answer, wait till I'm talking to a live person and then scream as loud as I can into the phone......since asking them to take you off the list does squat. Then I will block their number and feel better for having gotten a small form of revenge for the annoyance. May even invest in an air horn :)

These guys have been ignoring the DO NOT CALL list for months with some scam about credit card services. They have been calling on my home phone, but now it looks like they got my cell number and are calling me on that too. I have reported the various numbers they have been using to the FCC. Judging by the number of people complaining, they are still harrassing people and the FCC isn't trying very hard to stop them.

I just got a call this morning, I didn't pick-up and have now added them to my block list.  I am also on
the do not call list and have been for a long time.

Everyone needs to speak to a live representative and string them along as long as possible. Give them bogus credit card numbers and cite outlandish amounts of money that you owe on as many bogus cards as possible.

I like this one, maybe we can sell them som BS product for a big pay day..

I may have stumbled onto something:

I had forwarded my office phone to my cell, so when I got a call from this number I assumed it was from a client.  When I went into the "This is [BUSINESS NAME], how can I help you?" they hung up immediately.  After all, it would be a waste of time to try to sell me stuff if I'm a business...

Wonder if that would work for the rest of them?
