Just got the same text from 541 654 7242 saying my Wells Fargo card has been deactivated and to call (612) 223-5411. Looked up the text number. It is a phishing scam. Do not give any information.

Just got a text from 541-654-7244 (OR) that said I should call 612-223-5411, as my "Wells Fargo card beginning in 4323" has been deactivated. Hmmm, I don't HAVE a Wells Fargo card.... also, pretty dumb that they're apparently sending out every spam with the same first # letters of the card. I'd think most people know what the first four letters of their card number are. Added both numbers to call reject list - am sure hoping call reject list will also reject texts from banned numbers. How irritating....

I got a text from this number, total scam and can you believe my Wells Fargo card number actually starts with 4323??? I got an automated message Welcome to Wells Fargo card activation number...please enter your 16 digits card number and almost did but decided I'd call my bank later. I enterd 1234 4 times just to see what would happen next and of course the line went dead.

I got the same message as everyone else. My card does start with 4323, but I thought it was odd, usually the give the last four when I called the number and the automated message asked me to enter the full card number I hung up. I was in a restaurant so I had them run my card and it was fine. Pretty sneaky.

Got same Wells Fargo scam text. I don't have a Wels Fargo card. Called the real WF number and the guy didn't really seem to care much. Said he would "note" the numbers but somehow his voice sounded totally  bored. Good thing I am not a real customer.

Is it impossible for anyone to find the owner and address of this number and just go over and permanently take care of this problem?

Rcv'd text on cell phone stating: "WELLS FARGO ALERT: Your card starting with ++++ has been deactivated. Please contact us at: 612-223-5411." The number showing as source of call was 1-612-747-6254.

They are attempting to get card numbers along with expiration date, security code, PIN, and SS#. Wells Fargo rep stated within an hour of giving them this info they are seeing all forms of international charges on victims accounts.

got a text message on 10/28/11 stating the following: "WELLS FARGO ALERT: Your CARD sarting wiht 4323 has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 612-223-5411."  Interesting since I don't have any accounts or cards with Wells Fargo & never had. Obviously someone phishing to get your personal information to clean you out - DON"T BOTHER EVEN CALLING THIS # - looks like they have been calling or sending texts out to get you to call - never have know any bank or other that send you a message with the first four digits of the card - always been the last four digits - these people are pretty stupid -
when you look up the # given to call it says that the # is located in [***] Rapids, MN & the 223 exchange is managed by Northstar Access, LLC & is currently on switch # CNRPMNNDRLO.  Hopefully someone can catch these crooks before some poor soul falls for their little SCAM!!!!!!

Got: "WELLS FARGO ALERT: Your CARD starting with 4323 has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at: 612-223-5411." Yeah, me AND 100,000 other people have the same first 4 digits. However, someone's grandmother will be sorry soon. I wish not, but odds are against people in this. I looked up the numbers, if I found the addresses I would have gone to see just who owns them...

This happened earlier today to my husband, who fortunately did not complete the process, but hung up and called Wells Fargo to cancel our cards. This is clearly fraaud and should be reported to the Attorney General.
