Caller identifies himself as James Pierce from Xcel Energy. States the you've been notified by mail that Xcel is no longer accepting EFT and a payment arrangements need to be made now, that the shutdown crew is on their way and then gives you cash style payment options.

I was able to research the Xcel website, while on the phone, no mention of stopping EFT payments.
Called Xcel immediately, they did a great job looking up my account and confirmed the scam. I gave Jenna, Xcel, all the info I had and she was going to start an investigation. She called me back fairly quickly to confirm the scam.

I have reported to Saint Paul Police. One of their finest opened a police investigation and took my statement.

Same scenario as above.
I told the guy if he called again I'd report him.
