May 14/15 - Display says Unknown Caller.  Calling the Greater Toronto Area, but I have family in the 613 area code; it seems to be a spoofed number - it isn't Ottawa nor Kingston area numbers.

I checked on Canada 411 Reverse Lookup for both Business and Residential Numbers and it came up as "Unknown".  On a general Search, this is the only place the number appears.  So likely not a legitimate number.

I also got 5 calls from this number in the last 2 weeks. Left no message. Have blocked the number.

May 27th - I've now have had 4 calls from this number (morning, afternoon, evening, and late afternoon); not once has anyone left a message.  So pretty certain its an auto-dialer.  Reverse Lookup search indicates its a Telus landline, but not who it belongs to - so perhaps a rented or temporary number for a survey/polling company (which would be legit).

Still, can't be sure.  I'd prefer they went back to the old days of phoning from landlines in their offices with real people.  I'd be willing to participate in a legit survey; but no longer bothering to answer any "Unknown Number" on my call display.  The scammers have done this country a great disservice, as now most government opinion polls are going unanswered.

This call was from a CHARITY call center.  The customer they were calling for was GREENPEACE CANADA, I've supported them in the past.  They are some of the nicest call center staff I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with, and for once I didn't mind the call.

If you ask them they will remove you from the list, no questions asked.

Happened to be home today when they called again, so answered.  Its The Broadbent Institute (seems to be an Ottawa number after all), fundraising.  Any Canadian who donated in memory of the late Jack Layton was requested to direct donations to here, which is a politically oriented non-profit charity - and so are allowed to solicit under Canada's Do Not Call Registry.  I had unsubscribed from additional requests the following year, and hen I mentioned it to the call agent he immediately apologized and made arrangements to remove my number from all their lists.

Much appreciated, that SOME organizations still operate as they are supposed to.

I am an elderly technophobe. Pray tell, how can a number be blocked? Thank you already for your reply/replies.

The pleasant man said he was calling from the Ottawa Mission, wanting me to sign up for monthly donations instead of my current annual one.

I've got calls from this number fairly regularly.  Appreciate others input on their experiences, but absolutely not answering "unknown caller" anything, these days.
