Gigi - 7 Mar 2007Received several calls from this caller. Called the number back and it says it's a research company that calls to conduct surveys. They give a different number to call to speak with a live person. I called the number but it's not in service. Looks very suspicious to me.

Janet - 10 Apr 2008I think you need to check solitation laws in canada again about times you can call and conduct. I have done this business and if it done correctly it is a wonderful experience however it is not for everyone.

So what if you are licensd... so what if you think you can call whenever you want.. you are rude, offensive and pathetically obnoxious, no wonder no one wants to speak with you and your kind on the phone or anywhere else for that matter. If it were you talking to me today, I'd have found some way of have your terminated from your miserable excuse for a job.

"CB" - 14 Apr 2008I just got a call from them Sunday, april 13th with the same pitch--a research firm in Canada. They wanted to talk to the male of the house...I laughed as that is impossibly departed issue. Then I was convinced it was a weird caller. Who do we report this too????

HeatherJean - 10 May 2008613-230-2890 - has called the house twice now within a week. As soon as I answered, a female, they hung up, so that mystery is solved, I wasn't the male of the house. Just called again with no message left.
The law in Canada protects privacy of the individual (a parliamentary ACT called PIPEDEA), so next time they call, don't give them a blast a s**t, however gratifying that may be, but ask them to put you on their do not call list. They may have the right to call you, but that doesn't supercede your right to privacy and never should.
There is also a direct marketing organization in Canada, Canadian Direct Marketing Association, which collects "do not call" and "do not mail" requests through their website. I've used this with great success for junk mail, although some still gets through. It takes a while for it take place, but once it does, you'll notice a reduction in harassing phone calls and annoying junk mail.

Called the number back, and it says 'this is Opinion Search, we are a market research based company in Ottawa.' I called their admin office on 613 230 9109 and asked to be put on the Do Not Call list. Hopefully they'll comply.
