Says they are Canada Revenue Agency and a lawsuit has been filed against me.  Yeah right!  Call back immediately for more details.

I just recieved this message as well. What a joke. Has anyone called the number back to see who answers?

I recently got a call from this number and knew it was fake but called CRA directly. They confirmed this was a scam. I decided to call the number just to see who it was and they answered the phone "Hello CRA". Lol. I told them I was going to report the number. What a bunch of scammers.

Received 2 calls from the above #.  I used call block to return call.  A woman with a thick Indian accent answered as "Canadian Revenue Agency' .  I asked where she is sitting to take the calls and what is her name. (I understand MAGIC JACK) is used for such calls) She said she was speaking from the HQ of CRA and her name was Steffie.  I told her the call was being monitored and she be careful of what she is saying.  She told me in return that my call is being monitored and can be used against me.  So I said "do you think I'm that stupid? Why do you want to rob innocent people?; why can't you get a proper job instead of scamming people" She said because most people are stupid! not like me who is so clever!!(sarcastic) Does anyone know the phone # of PHONEBUSTERS?

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

I got a call from this number claiming that a lawsuit has been filed against me by the CRA and that I should call back immediately. What is really interesting about this is that I got the call at 4:40 AM. It's clearly a scam as no government worker starts work before 8 let alone at 4 in the morning.

Just received a 2nd call fron this number claiming that a lawsuit has been filed against me by the CRA.  Yeah, right !  First one was last night around 9:30pm, like the government is working at this hour !!!  They just found another way to scam people since their computer error message from Windows doesn't seem to work anymore !!!  Do they really think taht we are that stupid !!!

I received a call from this number, she said her name was Steffy Norics and office badge cr25037 and she was calling from cra, the audit department. Don't listen to her, hang up and call the real cra.

I got a call from these D'bags at 3:15 in the morning!!! NOT IMPRESSED!!!!! Let the machine pick up, and no message was left.  Searched the number and found all these posts regarding it, so If they call back again, I will initiate a long and methodical campaign of harassment to their call-back #. I advise everyone who reads this to do the same. Keep phoning their call-back number at all times of the day, and without saying a word, just blow a penny-whistle into the receiver as loud as you can; that's always fun; or place the phone up to your speakers, and blast them with some crazy death metal...

got a call saying the CRA was filing a lawsuit against me and I should call  the number immediately.  Not going to!

Just got a call from this number today. Said CRA was suing me...  caused minor heart attack - tried calling back to correct the mistake, no answer (3 times).  Then I did a search and found this site. Phew!

I got the same call today.  Some male with an Indian accent by the name of Gerry Cole (LOLOLOL) told me I owed back taxes and I told him to go to hell.

Yup must be tax season and I got the same call claiming a lawsuit by cra.  I was wondering and checked online and sure enough a scam. thanks everyone
