Apparently the cra collection department looking to get you to the bank to get them cash asap!

On November 3, 2015, at 11:30am, the caller left a voicemail on our home phone in Ottawa, claiming to be "Brian John".  He said that we must return his phone call right away and if not he can only wish us "good luck" as "the situation unfolds" on us.  I did not call him back but Googled the phone number instead.

Same message as reported earlier, obviously a machine because we miss the first part. This guy is crazy.

Received 3 messages today identical to the ones described above.

I got a call from this number, let the machine pick it up, listened to the recording, it sounded important so I called back. A man with an accent answered the phone and proceeded to inform me I was audited and found to be guilty of tax fraud and the RCMP had a warrant for my arrest. I told him I was going to call the CRA to confirm his story. He asked WHY I had to call CRA and I told him any FOOL could call me and say the things he said. He then accused me of calling him a fool and was adding insulting a federal employee to the charges. I told him to go ahead but I was still calling the CRA, which is when he used the F bomb on me and then I knew he was a fraud so I decided to give him a piece of my mind. I told him he swore at me and I was reporting him. He swore again and hung up. I called the RCMP and they told me it was not the first call they had gotten about this and to disregard it. I then called 613-651-0977 back and the same guy answered. I said to him “hey fool” to which he replied F*** O** you F****** C***S***er. I laughed , called him and idiot and hung up…..fun huh!!     LOL.

I got the same phone call and yes it is a scam but to let everyone know, CRA does make phone calls but they are very professional.  They will ask you for your information but if you don't feel comfortable about giving it, they will send you a letter.  They will sometimes direct you to call the general inquiries phone number which everyone has access to in their own phone books. CRA would never leave treating phone messages or use fowl language.  Best practice is never, never give your personal info or credit card info over the phone.  If CRA does call, ask for a letter,  Its that easy.                    Stay Safe Everyone!

Actually CRA does contact by phone.  But if you request them send you a letter because you don't want to give out your info, they understand and will.

We got the same message, there is a $2.95 to return call. We will report it as well. We know it is a scam. He has been busy

Multiple phone calls on same day.  Voice message recorded by a man with an accent.  The first part is cut and starts as “Attorney of record to return the call.  The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive.  My name is Brian John  … 613 651 0977 (repeats #) … Don’t try to disregard this message and not return the call. Now if you don’t return the call and I don’t hear from your attorney either, the only thing I can do is wish you good luck as the situation unfolds on you.  Goodbye and have a great day.”

I got called by this number too. I had a certain Brian John tell me good luck as this situation unfolds... blablabla...
I actually called back and spoke to a Jack Cooper who informed me that I had committed fraud and other fiscal violations, and that I had a short amount of time to produce a cooperative settlement. If not, I was to be arrested, and sent to prison for 90 days.

Just got the call. Thank goodness for google. What a creep. Good advise - don't call back it is a scam!

Got the same call 2 times today November 19 from the number 6136510977 and the message is the same "Jo" posted, thank you for the advise.

Same speel everyone else got on my answering machine. I wish I'd answered lol
